thats great news but i'm rma mine its only 45 days old.

"Try to spread the word regarding this, so people don't have to pay for a new mobo!

I don't know about you guys, but I am NEVER touching GIGABYTE again and will NEVER upgrade my GIGABYTE BIOS!"

why do you need to buy another board ??? RMA it ,,it was there bad software that broke it.

Welcome to the forum Bjenkin Good to have more positive feedback that it works.
From now on your Bjenkin the Unbricked As Clunk says it gives an opportunity for a quicker fix than an RMA if people want to do it.
Looks like that's a trick well worth remembering.

Tend to agree with that . It is a serious incident , which needs to be addressed to ensure no repeat, as with other recent Gigabyte boards, the board is otherwise very good. So whilst I can appreciate many peoples anger at their boards being fubarred, I wouldn't be quite so negative.

Bjenkin... i love you as much as possible without being gay!
i just tried your method that you mentioned and it worked. Left everything that wasn't necassary unplugged, 1 Dimm, no battery, etc.
Took several attempts, but found a way that worked.
Hit the power button, waited about 2 seconds then shorted the pins for about 4 seconds and then let off the pins. thanks again!
(message from my now unbricked pc)

WARNING!!! i just tried to flash to F5 again with the "updated" version released on 7/21/08 (original F5 was on 7/18/08). And it STILL BRICKS YOUR MOTHERBOARD!
I downloaded it less than an hour ago off Giga-byte's website and ended up having to remove hardware and jump pins again

does anyone know if there is a good F5 bios? i used the American server to download the bios from when the giga-byte website asked where to download the file from, if that should matter.

Well this article confirmed the suposed upgraded bios
Tweakers.net Think I'd go back to earlier bios for now Not like F5D was so bad.
