SUPERSANKS

is the zaleman 9700 the best cooler i can install or is there something better. I have found that most if not all the cpu cooler sites have no listings of supported motherboards.

thanks

Think I'd personally go fior Thermalright Ultra Extreme or one of the HDT Coolers with a bolt thru mounting kit, to improve on the awful stock push pins. Good cooling & relative chep solution.

Zalman are good products but not quite up with the top performers.

for definitions best read BIOS Guide and Information & MotherBoard Intelligent Tweaker (MIT)

Collectively they should help stability. With Intel boards The Memory controller is in the Northbridge, so increasing voltage here in particular may enable running with 4x1gb . In that respect it's best to get 2x1GB running stable , then try adding the 2nd pair.

To test stability
see Overclocker's Tool Kit. & links to Prime95 & Memtest HCI.

Default New Revision Board - V1.30

Just in the process of doing a new build for someone and found the board had been revised.
Must admit it was only when I went to remove the Crazy Cool heatsink , that i noticed the difference :-

Then checked

Haven't seen any other changes, or a change log anywhere on Gigabytes site.
V1.1
5) The Motherboard (1of2)
6) The Motherboard (2of2)

v1.3
DDr3 Slots

Southbridge

PCI/PCI-E
