SS: what kind of "Write" speed do you get from your memory when you run everest...on this board, i am in the high 8000 but on my IP35 Pro board i am in the low 9000; actually 9342 in vista64...tried it in XP with about the same value.

as for NB temp, is that the motherboard temperature readout from Everest 4.2?...if so, i am getting into the mid 40's when i run wPrime 1024M bench..idle is about 31C...when i removed the crazycool, i tightened/torqued the screws on the NB part of the heatsink...did the same for the SB screws...i also put a 40mm fan standing vertical to blow through the NB heatsink.

Hi Ace,
Spent some trime yesterday seeing if i could rig up some aftermarket cooling up , to reduce nb temp which is still in the mis 50C's. despite having about 5 options none would fit so I went back to the heatpipes. Great minds think alike did the same with fan , but still high. Spent the rest of the day fighting with my network, i'm getting an intermittewent network connection through only 1 of the ethernet connections. This is from wife's mc.

I did upgrade everest to a new BTA , got the link after submitting the unknown mobo report. Now shows mobo temp as what is NB ie 50+ with me. Added bonus is vdimm is shown as well as vcore. Have screeny to post when i get back up.

Have struggled to get 1800Mhz stable , haven't access to my screenshots atm. At 1800 I'm through the 10k everest read. at 1600mhz i'm at 9~9.5k depending on trd used.
Have been running 400 or 450 fsb with trd of 7 or 8 respectively

i am up to 1747 mhz (CAS-8) now but i have to use lesser timings..so..in effect, i am at the same performance that i was at 1389 using CAS-5...right, CAS-5!...pretty slick!

you never answered the question about everest motherboard temp being the NB temp...is that correct?

off to church...cya!

Sorry yes Have you got the Bta update I mentioned ??

Made some progress , tried slackening off the screws on my NB & now have both lan connections back . since doing that , they've disappered a few times though in bios, have cleared bios & pulled battery , are now both showing up on my router. though at the moment still not managed to communicate to the router from my pc. This is still off the wife's rig. Am checking out router status

are these the LAN's on the Giga X48 board?

do you use MAC filtering on your router?

since slackening off the torque on the NB screws, have you noticed any difference in temperature?

EDIT:...my NB temp readout from Everest is cool in temperature terms...now, the difference for me could be mounting my Panaflo 38MM fan on the pull side of the TRUE heatsink, right over the PWM heatsink...when i run the wPrime 1024M bench the fan goes to full blast (2.7K RPM)...when i put my fingers right on the top of the PWM heatsink, i feel the blast of air which is most likely sucking and then blowing the heat coming off the PWM heatsink...try a fan on the PWM if you hadn't thought of it.

i have to admit that i have not used the lans...i use a wireless USB LAN since i am using another room for my benching...infact, i am using a wireless "N" USB LAN on this computer instead of using the wired LAN's on my IP35 Pro...i get 'better' throughput for network speed with the wireless "N".
