Magnificent job supershanks as always

If DDR3 wasn't so expansive for me this board would be tempting (just so I could make the move to DDR3 of course, since the rest isn't particularly awesome, very similar to the X38 DDR2 variants).

Great work as usual Supershanks

This time round will be interesting, what with you, Clunk & Ace-a-Rue all having X48 boards, cant wait to see how it all goes.

Peace

Yep it's hard judging when to jump to DDR3, I've done oit ass the £ of my Cellshock was the same as the £ I paid in Jan 07 when I moved to my 1st Conroe board.

Cheers

i paid the same price for my DDR3 GSkill, which is 4 gig's, as i did for 2 gig's of Corsair Dominators DDR2 a little over a year ago.

The X48 NB has virtually no coverage as can be seen here

The square of solder point just to the right is the NB Core, which is uncovered on the X48, whilst being covered on the X38 (See link above.)

your crazy cool design is smaller than mine....i will upload my picture to my website...be back shortly to edit.

That is weird My boards 1.1
as here

My NB temps are concerning me a bit The sensor that shows on Everest is showing 55C idle ~57C load , as i just reported across on your thread Ace. Despite flashing to latest BTA i'm still not yet stable with memory at 1800Mhz (450x8 4.00B) What are your temps showing ?

Sorry to interrupt the general trend but, Supershanks, what DDR3 are you using on the Gigabyte. I did look but missed it. I see the word Cellshock but can't see the actual spec.

Doh! Just found it.

same revision and same place made for the PCB, Taiwan!...hmmmm

i haven't checked my NB temp as of yet...will do soon...i am pushing the NB voltage with a 0.40v add, although, i probably do not need that much...i just pushed it up as i was trying to find the workable memory straps...SO FAR, the best strap for me is the "B" strap (1333 mhz)....presently i am at DDR3-1389 speed...memory is spec's for 1600 mhz.

here is another nice juicy detail...i am on CAS-6 (bios set) and also Performance Level 6 (memset) with "Turbo" performance set in the bios...it is performing very nicely in windows for my 'G0" Q6600 @ 3.9Ghz....i ran wPrime (both benches) without a hiccup (nice).

i really LIKE this board and my selection for memory (GSkill 2 x 2gb DDR3-1600) wasn't a bad choice either!
