all layed out in methodical order...VERY NICE!
the only irritant of this board is the bios...if you exceed the/a parameter by to much, it can have a difficult time to come back to the previous known, good settings...i've seen this board pump 3-4 times fishing for the good, known settings....that is about the only rub...i do have one other! ...the easy tune 5 pro is about worthless...i miss my Uguru on Abit mobo

Thanks, has always been there in post#1 it's just Clunk had found a new way to display the thread which kept post#1 in view wherever you went in the thread. I tried it yesterday, not sure whether i like it or not . What do you think ??
I know what you mean re overclocking recovery, the Foxconn Mars had an option to disable Overclock recovery, perhaps Gigabyte engineers could add it to the bios ??
The fact that Easy Tune is crap , is par for the course . Abit Guru I'd agree is the only decent piece of oc monitoring/tweaking software anywhere.

i like it!...bringing it forward to wherever you want to park it is a nice feature...you know, some of us readers do not visit the first page after you get about 10 pages or more in the thread.

abit's IP35 Pro was simple...all you had to do is shut it down for about 10 seconds and it would grab the last good settings on the next start up if like you over-stressed the memory with tight settings.

hmm....
The problem i faced might be more than the particular board / batch issue.
Did anyone catch the guru3d review of the DDR2 board?
Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 review
Quote:
I put the FSB to 1600 MHz, the multiplier to 9 and then did nothing, the system refused to post. And automated series of restarts will set the mainboard back to default settings. This is the difference with a nForce 780/790 mainboard which has predefined OC configurations.
After raising the core voltage of the processor too a way too high 1,65v we finally reached a stable POST. Obviously we made sure the FAN was set to maximum which made it sound like a JSF fighter on a runway takeoff.

Looks like a common bios issue with this board.....grrrrr.........
I hope Gigabyte does something about this.
Will be testing new board today. Fingers crossed.

Usually you guys end at 3 GHz 3.0-3.2 GHz on a Core 2 Quad Q6600 quad-core, right? I

, but haven't got the board so am in no real position to judge.
As the board has been out a while i'd have thought we'd have haerd much more had it been more widespread , think we may have seen more , not sure sortry ..
