a couple of things to try is higher MCH, FSB and PCIe voltages....also, put CPU & MCH skew control into "Auto"...something is preventing it from holding on to your settings and it reverts to a previous bios settings that work.

the other thing is to clear CMOS with the battery out for about 5-10 minutes.

if all fails, i would reflash the bios while in default settings.

Hi Funky,
Welcome to the forum
I think looking at the settings that when using CIA a lower divider is being used :-
look at the CPU-Z memory ratio in your pic it's 4:5 which in gigabyte speak = 5/4x2 = 2.50 rather than the 3.20B shown in your manual shot.

Suggest you copy the CIA settings & see if you can replicate the performance manually :_
CPU Host Frequency = 409/410

System Memory multi = 2.50

see if that is ok.

Alternatively your ram is rated at 1000Mhz so 1000/2.5 = FSB 400
so CPU Host Frequency = 400 with
System Memory multi = 2.50
Will get you 9x400 = 3,600

luck

Thanks for the BTA Ace , just got it will give it a go.

@funky
Try aces's suggestions as well , didn't see jis reply as I posted mine .
The skew is only really needed a little at higher FSB.

Tried all 3 suggestions.
I cannot even manually set what CIA sets automatically in Bios.
I got hold of another board as i though it might be defective board.
But even on that board with this chip same thing happens.

Increased PCI express voltage by as much as +.20 FSB : tried everything till maxed out, MCH : everything upto +.350 and still same thing happens. It simply does not hold the settings in bios.
I even took printout of memtest CIA settings, and put everything in Manually on board for memory timing as well. And still same thing. Reboots and oc fails.

Can this be compatibility issue with 6200TC? I will try and test using other video card soon but this is weirdest behavior i have seen on any board i have ever used with this exact same configuration. IX38 Quad GT, IP35 Pro, 750i SLI GTW, 790i Ultra SLI all work just fine. And 2 X48-DQ6 showing same symptoms. :S

That's really strange Funky.
you might try 2.5A 400FSB
or 2.66D 376FSB

Also turn static Trd onto auto & see if that changes anything i's showing a s7 in your screen shot.

Don't see it being a gfx issue , from your symptoms.

SO...if you cleared CMOS with battery out did you finally re-flash the bios?

BTW, which bios are you using?...try re-flashing that bios or go up or down from the current one that you are using....make sure everything is set to optimized defaults before flashing.

Yup tried that.
Flashed all these bioses with default settings.

F6 official, F7b, F7f, F7g..

Still same thing. First time in years this totally stumbles me.

All the settings apply properly. All voltages work just fine. All memory dividers work fine is set alone.
Its just not taking any manual FSB setting no matter what.

2.5A 400FSB = No GO.

2.66D 376FSB = No GO.

If I oc from windows, it ocs just fine.................. geez this is making me go crazy.

I had similar on a x48T BYA & had to flash back to an earlier bios, all was then well.

I'd be inclined to repeat almost what ace said , load defaults flashback to an earlier bios . I'd then pull battery & leave it overnight.

how are you flashing?...using Qflash?

do you know how to manually flash in DOS using the "FLASH895.exe"?...if not, i will give you the switches to use...there are like 5 or 6 and you probably only need 3 or 4...be right back in 10 minutes....have to boot into 32 bit OS to open the 'exe'

Yes I am using the Qflash for bios updates.
I have gone back and forward between all the bios files for this board that I could get hands on.
from F6 to F7g and backwards as well.
Havent tried FLASH895 yet.
I do have bootable dos usb key ready.
So i can try flash 895. but I am not aware of switches to use. All bios files had flash895.exe and autoexec.bat which only had single command "flash895 biosname".

If there are any switches to try please let me know.

flash895 /? should list all switches right?
