A GOOD MILESTONE
i though this was doing very good at 4335 Mhz and 2 hours of Prime 95 doing small FFT's...this E8500 is an attractive chip for the price...i get about the same video performance as i do with my QX9650, ie, all three 3DMark bench completions and also run Prime 95....couldn't really run Prime 95 at 4335 mhz with the QX9650

did that include3dmark06 I found that gives much more weighting for quad cores ??. If that is the case then yorkfield doesn't look that attractive at all
luck

i used a bios set vcore of 1.456v, which is about 1.42 to 1.425 actual vcore on my board at 4335 mhz...under 100% load it drops down by 0.025...in real terms, about 1.39v for vcore to hold Prime 95 at 4335 mhz.
i dropped back to F4H bios since F5A was giving me memory timing fits at 530 and above for FSB...530 puts it about 1696 Mhz on the memory speed (rated for 1600 mhz)...saw over in my thread at XS that BenchZowner says that F4D is the best bios for him.
as far as 3d2006 score...i am off by about 800 points (lower) that the QX9650 score...not a whole lot for only being 1/4th the price of a QX9650....AND, the VC is not overclocked and the driver is only set to max performance...also, i did not increase the PCIe bus speed or touch the video performance mode in the bios.

trying F4D bios and it is maybe a little bit better in (video) performance at a slightly lower Mhz...right now, i see, for my hardware, 520 Mhz as my max stable FSB...respectable; YES, but i was hoping for 540....i was trying to get there using the 8 multi...now, i've flipped the page and gone to 8.5 multi and i will probably settle on 510 FSB x 8.5= 4335 Mhz unless 520 x 8.5 is a working number.

back to F5A...no real difference between any of them from what i can detect...maybe a point or two in the video benches but seems to be a dead wash!
