i was kind of hoping to get an E8500...they are suppose to be out by now.
Yes , i was looking when i got my E8400. I might be tempted yet but there is quite a premium on them due to the scarcity.

The hardest clocks with this E8400 seems to be with maximum multiplier.

Hi m8,
Well another year older, hope you had a good trip & party
Yep dave's on Little Devil's Single StageHope's all well with you & you've dusted off your rig again
I've spent last day or so trying to get my quad 6600Go stable at my normal 3,600 I'm havving troublre , around the GTLRef , on the Abit My sweet spot was 68/67% closest i can get here is is 67/63 which is the default. started off with prime just doing a loop of small fft then crashing out of XP. Have twaeked & stopped that , but I then get a core failing after 2~3 loops. This is a clasic GTL Tuning thing that i found with the Abit IX38 QuadFinding Optimum GTLRef but sadly with this the bios options aren't as flexible so , haven't managed it yet.

It's a bit academic as I've just ordered an E8500 and will sell either the E8400 or Q6600 Go. I'm not sure yet which one though as their both good cpus. I really wanted a stable 24/7 to share with others. l

uck

YEP!...another year and more aches!

everything went well for the extended weekend (except for the 9 hour drive to my son's place)....i had a NICE ice cream cake after dinner...it was yummy!...i almost had 3 slices.

what bios are you using, F5A?

i know what you mean about the CPU GTLREF...this is the major disappointment of the board...it is not as tweakable like the IP35 and IX38...i just about gave up on doing any Prime 95 stuff above 3960 mhz, which is not bad for a P95 mhz but, i would of loved to try to get more out of it.

Yep started from there & have worked back , only 1 left to try is F4, still no joy. Options are exactly as x38, thought they night have tweaked them. Seems to be optimised for dual core 45nm at the minute.
