It is hard to say if the 3DMark error is due to a BIOS issue. Have you tried using 3DMark05/06 or Vantage?
Which drivers are you using CAT8.8? Does the error occur with a single card?
The BIOS that works best for me so far is 725, though i am confused as to why you need to rebuild your array if as Praz mentions there are no updates to the RAID ROM.
When using RAID i usually spring for a separate controller, incase the board fails but that is irrelevant given your situation.
Why not try to resolve the 3DMark issue before building the array. When you are sure it is dealt with then use the RAID afterwards.

This question?

Generally, the latest official BIOS is the one to go for.

If you have issues with that particular one, then you might want to check out the beta BIOS section on the DFI site, but be aware that if you stuff the board up with a beta BIOS, it is not covered under warranty

i have tried 3dmark05 same thing happened, the program is waiting on the opening screen which says 3dmark is configuring your system, this can take up to a minute , and iam waiting but than the program is not responding. there was no problem with single card. i have tried both CAT 8.6 and 8.8...
It is a good idea solving the problem without building raid array...
Did you try 820 or 829 bios i didnt like 829 but at the moment i use 820 it is not bad but i will try 829 again to solve my problem...

I have used some older BIOS but not the 8xx versions yet.
Prolly best to try the newest one, or if you want to risk it try some of the beta versions.
Very odd problem though, are there any other benchmarks you could try like lightsmark or aquamark - just to see if they fail too?

Sorry missed your post,
Thats a great clock for an E8500 already, if this is for 24/7 use you are really near the highest vcore i would use for these 45nm parts maybe a touch more of you are happy with that.
What GTL settings have you tried? Also have you tried 33/667 strap? ? Maybe a touch more volts on NB?(though this might not matter=doesnt on mine)
Not sure if Vtt will make any odds but if you dont go mad and try upping it in small increments?

I agree, you are already doing well and are probably at the edge of the CPU's ability with your cooling.

VTT can be helpful, I would try a notch or two of that for starters.

Ok Thanks i have been play around with the GTL no real results yet and increasing the vtt did nothing iether I can boot into vista at 4.27 ghz no problem run explorer but as soon as i run a bench it stops in a matter if seconds. No lockup though. I just need to find the stability somwhere. Oh and this is not a 24/7 system just my toy so far i am very happy with the board but after you have owned a striker any board is great.
