Seems fine, been playing games benchies etc..
Did you have any problems getting past 500 stable?
You should try for 600 FSB lol, I am going to mess around
and see if I can get her stable with a higher FSB and CPU freq.
Thanks again Praz enjoy your big ass burger

I am thinking of getting a new chipset waterblock do you have any recommendations?
I am currently using the Swiftech MCW30 chipset block.
Price is no issue....

The MCW30 has always worked fine for me.. 520 with 2x2GB using the 1:1 divider isn't a problem. After that though it starts to strain the NB and requires both the NB GTLREF and voltage to be dead on. Oh, and the burger was good.

Could you post the changes for the 520 FSB 1:1 sets?

Don't have the board set up right now. Best I remember clock crossings can go back Current and raise NB/VTT voltages.

I've managed to get the Q9450 stable at 3.4Ghz with lower voltages then I had previously thanks to CrapCrasher's post in the Intel Overclocking thread, prime95 ran for 14hrs 17mins before I turned the pc off in the morning.

vid:1.3375v(~1.37/1.38v with vid special), I was using 1.4v before;
nb 1.367v(was using 1.715v before);
vtt:1.25(1.4v before);
cpu gtl 1/3: 115;
cpu gtl 0/2: 107;
nb gtl: 100(the gtl setting was disabled).

I upped it to 3.5Ghz loaded into windows desktop but wouldn't fully load everything so I had to restart, now Windows is refusing to load(gets stuck at the black screen with windows xp and progress bar) even at stock tho it loads in Safe Mode. going to have to reinstall was hoping to play with overclocking till friday night then reinstall over the weekend(been meaning for the last couple of weekends due to the cold boot and the 1394 net adapter issues).

Hello Fowler003

This is from XtremeSystems Forums - Powered by vBulletin

"Any non-Extreme 45nm quad a person can expect 3.2 out of it. 3.4 if they are lucky enough to get a really good one regardless what review sites would have one believe. If speeds faster then this is expected out of these processors then it's time to pony up a grand for the QX".

"As 4 to 5 hours of Prime comprises most of my screenshots I'll assume the last bit was directed at least partially at me. Have to remember we are no longer dealing with yesterday's AMD processors. In the here and now extended runs of Prime mean very little. There are plenty of users that will tell you that 24, 48 or however many hours of Prime run successfully doesn't count towards much when the first app or game you launch crashes before it even finishes loading. You can be sure that 10 loops of Crysis, rendering in 3dMax or the full 1 1/2 hour run of PCMark Vantage tells more of system stability then countless hours of Prime.

Most of the screenshots I post here are done so as secondary. The main purpose of them are to be used as a starting point for users that are having difficulties with the board on another forum. I have never once stated they would be 100% stable for someone else but rather as a point to work from. That is also the reason most of my settings are never maxed out. Would be of no benefit to a user to post settings that were on the ragged edge.

Are there other benchmarks I'd like to run or maybe allocate more time for? Sure but as I work with more boards in a week then most users do in a year that is not something practical or possible".

Best regards
Nacka

Anybody who tried it can tell if there are new options? Or are there some benefits anyway?

@Nacka

The above post really has no place in this thread. It was made in response to a question that was asked on that forum. It was not meant to imply in any way a right or wrong method of one's own testing philosophy.

I'm just moving some programs to a partition I'm not going to format when I reinstall windows, after that reinstall and see if it fixes the problems(well the other problems exept the one to do with the 24pin pass through).

going to be getting a not too expensive multimeter(~£30) from maplins to check the psu, clunk is there any you recommend?
