I'm not sure why wondows would take so long to load, unless you have a bad install/driver problems or some other hardware issue that needs fixing?

well I loaded optimised defaults but windows still playing up.
I've flashed the new bios, now it wouldn't fully load windows
I've noticed that its giving the new hardware found and trying to install 1394 net adapter. duplicates.

I may end up reinstalling windows, just need to check something about the karpsky(sp?) internet security suite first.

Can anyone use the cd-in function successfully?

I guess that there shouls be something wrong in the audio table of the bios.

    Welcome to the forums

I haven't tried that, what is the problem with it? Just no sound?

seems you have been having lots of problems w/ this board from SCAM from the get go. No one should have to trouble shoot a system that is new like you have been doing. I think your board is faulty. Send that F$%^er back and make them cross ship you another one. Send them links to this forum so they know how much of a pain you have had. Plus by them not sending you a 775 socket cap they voided intels warranty
on your board if i am correct. keep us updated fowler man

broken pixel mine came with cpu cap, you're thinking of some one else but yeah have had lots of trouble, prob shoul have gone with the Rampage Formula(but then would have had to take the heat sinks off to watercool the nb, which would have ment watercooling the sb & mosfets as well)

I've overclocked the Q9450 to 2.8Ghz(350Mhz x 8), have had prime95 running for 6 1/2 hrs now. after 3hrs or so the temps were in the late 50oCs(just short of 60oC) according to core temp(10oC lower with real temp), its down by ~5oC now. haven't touched the other options(voltages etc), I put the ram bak to 'stock'(333/800, 1.90V).

going to try sorting out the other problems before I push any further.

    Ah! Ok
No more ASUS for me after going DFI. I used ASUS and ABIT since 2002 and like DFI way better than any board I have used. Finally got prim stable for 17.49hrs @ 3.891GHz DDR2 @ 1151MHz. Took me many sleepless nights as I am addicted to clocking now.

Keep up the work man, since I started overclocking I live in forums and have learned mucho in only 2 weeks. I will try and help out as much as I can but always take Clunks info to heart rather than noob knowledge.

    Peace,
    JmA

I got my Q6600 to 3.6Ghz(400Mhz x 9) on air(AF7Pro) on the P5B Deluxe Wifi(and the Maximus Formula SE if I remember, before it bit the dust(the Maximus not the Q6600 )), ran it at 3.2/3.4GHz as th temps were a bit too high at 3.6Ghz. once I've sorted out the problems, I'll pop the Q6600 in and see if I can get it higher(in watercooling it should have lower temps at 3.6GHz).

I've used a DFI before(the Lanarty NFII Ultra B) but never really did any overclocking as the PSU and stock cooler weren't up to it, was meaning to upgrade them but never got around to it.
