Talking Help me reach my target freq Clunk, others are welcome to play.

DFI LT x48 (E8500-H20) 333/667MHz
4x 1024 Mushkin HP26400 4-4-4-12

It is finally time for some advice from a guru now that I have
a better understanding of what is going on during overclocking.
My target is to get to 4.3- 4.5GHZ stable under prime95 using
the MAX recommended 24/7 vcore voltage under H20 without
CPU degradation.

I will be going on vacation soon and want to leave prime95 running 24/7 for 2+ weeks.
That should be enough time to complete a calculation? (I'm still learning about prime95.
So far at the settings in the template below it has run for 2.5 hrs. stable.
I stopped the test with no errors. Its not a long run but is the
most stable run so far w/ 4-4-4-12 timings.

Besides using 5-5-5-15 Auto timings @1.2625v, 333/800Mhz primed for 5.5 hrs 0, 0 errors.

I can clock to 4.2xxish GHz, but can't get prime95 to run for than 20 min.
Most of the time throwing error's from just one core, while the other core
keeps on trucking. I'm also trying to keep the memory at 4-4-4-12 if possible?
Note: when I was trying to boot and run a 450 CPU clock @ more than 1.36v+ the
board would start up and then shut its self off and not turn back on like usually does.

Digesting now GTL Reference, seem to be of great importance.

My template is out of order.

At least it's working now

How about trying the SATA burner on the other SATA controller for future reference?

Or maybe your SATA burner is fussy? I think someone else had a bad one of those that was causing problems.

got the audio(using the bernstein for now, will put the xifi gamer in later), lan drivers and 9800GTX(can't find the temp monitor, want to see how the wc is effecting it) drivers installed.

I can't find the INF on the ms site.

looking at core temp, the temps seem a bit high. core#0 38/39oC, core#1 38oC, core#2 40/41oC, core#3 29/30oC all idle.

the IDE drive seems to be funny, it seems to disappear from the device manager(and my pc)after awhile.

didn't have problem installing on the asus mboards with the sata drive.

I can't find the INF on the ms site. That's cause they're on the Intel site

I haven't tried the SATA since the install, will do so tomorrow. I don't think there was a leak as the tissues where dry when I took them off after the 24hrs, but I will have a closer look.
don't know why I misread Intel as Microsoft looking on the intel site the chipset drives, do I choose the 3 series option? when I did, it had the inf updat utility which was version 8.3.1.1009

I'm off to bed, will play round more in the afternoon.

I've just had a look(using a torch) but can't see any white residue(like last time), so don't think there was a leak.

I'm not sure if I damaged the motherboard in anyway while trying to fix it in on the stand offs with the tubing in the way, had to take it out a few times.

I ended up downloading the inf that broken pixel linked to, the version I found on the intel site was an older one. just installed it, lets see what happens.

What's up fowler? Man I'm still awake testing clocks @ 4104Mhz @1.300V OCCT just about to finish thrashing my silicon. I don't think you messed anything up fiddling around with you board. It takes quite a bit to really F them up. Let me know how those drivers work out for you. When I first got my LT48 I thought it had a bad IDE channel after I disables the jMicron controller when I was setting up RAID.

hmm, just looked at cpu-z. its showing as X38 for the chipset.
ran the cpc benchmark but the pc restarted during the 2nd test. going to try it again.
I'm currently using 0.95.4beta of coretemp, just had a look and its upto 0.99beta. should I get the 0.98.1 or the 0.99beta?
