will the MCW30 NB waterblock fit on this motherboard or is there some other one I need to look at(or is it better just to use the heatminator?)?

Yes, I believe the MCW30 will fit. The NB is a pretty standard size

Anyway, when's the new one arriving?
New one arriving tomorrow from Overclockers.

Latest twist in Scan RMA saga:

Whilst watching some Spanish footie last night, it finally dawned on me what must have happened.

I realised that the guy who did the RMA testing/inspection on my board must have had RMA notes that said something to the effect of 'bent heatsink'. So I figured he probably opened up the motherboard box, took out the second cardboard box inside and went straight to the motherboard in static proof bag. Probably then checking the preattached sinks and finding nothing wrong, and never realised there was a minator in the cardboard box that needed checking.

So I called Scan today and let them know my theory, and sure enough the guy on the phone goes to check my RMAd board and then proceeds to tell me how badly bent the Minator is (finally ). In a way its a shame that I didnt twig all this before I ordered from elsewhere.

Anyway so now im waiting to see if the refund goes smoothly and I get the full amount including shipping costs reimbursed, or they still have the RMA wrongly flagged as fault not found. Good thing I took those photos, because out of principle im not going to accept less than full refund.

Will have my replacement and an E8500 up and running in a few days hopefully.

Lesson learnt from all this for me was, take photos !!

Having had both of them, I can say that I found the DFI to be better in pretty much every way.

Hello ALL!

i bought this awesome board 2 days ago and i can say that this 1 was the best board i ever had!
but...it would be to easy having no probs and my 1 is that everytime when i boot up my system the comp will start and after 3 secs he shuts down and restarts 2 sec later and boots to windows without problems?! My question is why does he shut down everytime after 3 secs and then restarts and works 100% with no problems??
im using a q6600@3,6ghz with 3gig of corsair pc8500 dominator , i passed wprime at 32m in 11 seconds for about 20 times without problems and the cpu under fullload is about 35C , what can i do? this ain“t a big problem for me at all but its annoing that he restarts 3 secs everytime i power on the rig !

best regards

steveo
