Well I think that could be worth a crack.... I wonder if I could pull off 4500Mhz 475x9.5 using AUTO v-core with 120% VID. Then turn on all the power saving options.

I'm afraid that 4.5 GHz with power saving feature enabled won't work, but trying shouldn't hurt.

Neither, I'm betting he used the BL2KIT12864AL1065.16FD3 2.2V sticks with Micron RevD ICs since he mentioned 8500-rated Tracers.

They were the old 2.2v D9 sticks - I still have the Tracers and they are for sale at the moment

Angry cmos reloaded corrupted :(

My CMOS Reloaded screen is alllllll jacked up... missing colors in different areas and random characters that shouldn't be there

Is there any way to rectify the situation? I've pulled the battery, jumped jumpers and reflashed the current bios

Halp!

^edit

Very very helpful thread btw! I had a nice 4.5 e8500 on water, but now I have an i7 so I'm trying to get it good on air for the wifey...

Welcome here. What BIOS did you reflash? Is the system otherwise stable? Does this happen on stock clocks?

Thanks for the quick reply

12/24/2008 is the date on it. X48ADC24 from here:

oops. cant post links yet... lets try: us.dfi.com.tw/portal/CM/cmproduct/XX_cmproddetail/XX_WbProdsWindow?action=e&downloadType=biosTab&win dowstate=normal&mode=view&downloadFlag=true&itemId =532

System is stable, and it seems to load/save profiles just fine... Although the text is all scrambled, impossible to read the profile descriptions. Has random ascii characters in the borders and stuff. Happens @ stock too.

The rest of the bios pages are just fine, its just the cmos reloaded area thats messed

Did you flash from windows or booting from a floppy/USB thumbdrive/CD?
