Some folks using Q827A E8400 are getting 4Ghz. If yours is E8500 then 4Ghz should be good around 1.35v(prolly less) if all goes well.
SLB9K = E0

So i was lucky then? E0's are good? lol... I'm a little confused idealy a C0 would have been better right?

By and large the E0 as the more recent stepping tend to clock better, batch number does come into it but for the most part E0 are the prefered chip.
The E0 stepping 1st appeard with the E8600 and the E84/E8500s were respun to use this newer process.

This doesnt mean C0 are bad, its always the luck of the draw.

No OC yet.. Posted as E8500 but had to go into the BIOS to change the multi from 8 to 9 then enable the .5 (interesting fact.. My Gigabyte boards let me add .5 multi to my E8200...)

Its a good 2 hour job removing the Mobo in my MacPro case.. so no OC tonight.. gonna enjoy my new 3.16ghz default spenders and get on with the budget PC I'm building.

hopefully itll do what you want it to.
I switched from a pig of an E8400/E3110 to the E8600 i have now (which i wouldnt have bought it at current prices) as the E3110 wouldnt do 4Ghz on sane vcore.
The later models seem much better at delivering clocks about 4Ghz at relatively low volts but often kick out much more heat.
Nothing exotic needed to cool them but maybe shove in an extra 120mm exaust fan if you are short of them in the mac case.

Hi Guys

I'm trying to reach 533FSB my goal is 8x533 /1066 memory/

I'm currently running at 9x444 - 1066mem - stable

Anything above 1066mhz for memory is not stable when running 8gb.

Has anyone reached high FSB with 8(4x2)gb ram ?

Is it possible or I should forget about it and live with my current stable setup?

4.25Ghz from an E8400 could be tricky, but ive seen high clocks on these before.
You might need more Vdimm or more NBv depending on what you are using now.
Use the template in my sig to list your current settings pls.

Welcome to the forums

It may be possible, but I can't honestly see there being any benefit to doing this for 24/7 use.

If you want to grab the BIOS template and list your settings, we can have a look, but I would have said that you'll probably be better off settling for what you can get, rather than going for what you probably can't...if you see what I mean?

Also, please add your system specs to your profile (green link in my sig).

Hm Clunk perhaps you're right but I'll give it a try..

Is there a way to pull the settings from my bios or I'll have to rewrite them by hand?
