Gents, I've been following this thread for a while with much interest.
But I still need some guidance on configuring my x38t BIOS for my hardware;

I have the following:
Board: GA-x38t-DQ6
RAM: Patriot Viper DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz (2x 2gb) 7-7-7-20 1.9v
CPU: Q9450 2.8 GHz
GPU: ATI 4850HD

Right Now everything in BIOS is set to Auto or Normal.
But at these settings, I just don't think my components are being utilized to their full potential.
Could someone please tell me which settings I should use in the BIOS Intelligent Tweaker section?
I do not want a crazy overclock. Just something that will give me a cool and stable system at it's best potential.

I am a complete OC noob and after reading this and other forums. I still can't figure out what FSB, RAM and Voltage settings will be best for my rig.

Hi skimeister,
Welcome to the forum
Can you do me a favour please and Add Your System Specs To Your Profile!

Best guide is Core 2 Duo Basic Overclocking guide for beginners have a read of that & try a moderate overclock say 3200~340. Maybe try 8x400 = 3200 with your System Memory Multiplier at 4.0B which will jave your DDR3 running at it's rated 1600Mhz.

You may also find this thread useful in respect to ddr3 timings. Gigabyte GA X48T DQ6 Living Review The bios in both boards is the same.

let us know how you get on or if you get stuck

Hi nilo123,
Not used any of that ram, but it's supposed to be good stuff

Quote:
System Memory Multiplier: ???? dunno what to put here
needs to be 2.00
That means the memory is running 1:1 with CPU ie 533 because it's ddr2 (double data rate) memory runs at twice the speed ie 2.00.

If you have trouble try manually setting tRD: Auto to 9

What do u think?

What is tRC setting?
Where is it in my BIOS settings?

I'd like to run memory 1:1 with CPU.

Suggest me some adjustments, plz.

There's no particuilar benefit in running 1:1 (2.00) only that it enables a higher cpu overclock, as in your 1st post with 533FSB. If it's stable at 2.66 as your using with 400FSB that's fine

already did key timing is
Quote:
If you have trouble try manually setting tRD: Auto to 9
Try these secondary timings.
Quote:
Advanced Timing Control
ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD): Auto - 4
Rank Write to READ Delay: Auto - 4
Write To Precharge Delay: Auto - 8
Refresh to ACT Delay: 85 - Seems very high but som ocz needs that I usuall with micron run 50
Read To Precharge Delay: Auto - 4
tRD: Auto Try 7~9 to see which is best stablility improves with higher values but performance is hit.
tRD Phase Adjustment: Auto
Command to #CS Timing: 2

It's not.

This may help ?
Memset to bios translation
