SUPER, Thanks for your quick reply.
Ok, I've updated my profile with my system specs.

I've tried your suggestion and I am currently running my CPU @ 400FSB x 8 = 3.2

My Ram is set to 4.0B = 1600.

I could not get my system to boot with manually set RAM timings to 7-7-7-20, it would just restart a couple of times and get back to default. But when I put RAM timings to AUTO, it works OK.

Here are screenshots of my CPUZ, it appears my RAM is running at 10-11-11-30.. Is that normal?

Again, thanks for your time.

UPDATE:
So the system wasn't stable at the above settings. It would hang during 3D Mark Vantage run.
I am trying it now at 7 X 400 = 2.8 GHz. With RAM same as above; AUTO timings with 4.0B multiplier.

Will report after a couple of benchmarks..

No offence intended, but just to clarify, have you set the RAM voltage manually or is it on auto?

Yep as my mate GSte says
you need to go to
Quote:
System Voltage Control: Manual
DDR3 OverVoltage Control:
and change the value to an overvolt of +0.40v
The +0.40v comes from your rams rated voltage 1.90v less the std jdec ddr3 voltage 1.50v = 0.4v overvolt.

You should find that upping the voltage will now let you tighten the timings to the rated 7-7-7-20, rather than the Auto values.

Great results so far guys.
I've ran Orthos torture test for 4+ hours with zero errors.

During Orthos my CPU temp was 58c, is that cause for concern? My CPU heat-sink is not even warm to touch...maybe it's not connecting 100%

I'm quite content at 3.2GHz.

Also would you recommend using Gigabyte's Dynamic Energy Saver app? I would like to since my computer is idling most of the time, but don't want it to cause problems...with OC
THANKS!

Sounds a good result all round
Have not really tried DES myself, running higher Overclocks, but at a moderate overclock I would give it a try, you could let us know how it runs please

The covers on the the heatsink fins of the heatpipe chipset cooling, are they easily removable? Specificaly the squarish one to the left of the cpu.

That's the one, the little cover/lid on the top that says "silentpipe".
