I use the latest bios F4b and it's aircooled (Thermalright 120 Extreme) and antec 900 case

But i can't seem to get my timings lower, now they are 5-5-5-15 (2GB OCZ ATI Crossfire DDRII 800Mhz)
When i lower that (4-4-4-12) i get bsod or OCCT crash. 5-5-5-12 gives OCCT crash :/
Even raised DDRII volt +015 - +0.20- +0.30

That's very good then. Have you tried Orthos & Coretemp.

With memory you really have 3 options:-
Options 1&2)
2.50 giving you 1000 ie the rated speed of your ram.
but i found 2.66 strap is very strong & stable = 1067 , which might well be doable with your ram.

THe TRD value needs to be 7 when >=400 on the DQ6 the Auto sets it too tight & caiuses failure so your best tsetting it manually.

Code:
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) : 2.5 or 2.66
DRAM Timing Selectable : Manual
Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time: : 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# : 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge : 5
Precharge Delay(tRAS) : 10~15 my 8500 do 10 try between these
Advanced Timing Control Manual
ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD) : 4
Rank Write to READ Delay : 4
Write To Precharge Delay : 6
Refresh to ACT Delay : 30 or 35
Read To Precharge Delay : 4
tRD : 7
tRD Phase Adjustment : auto
Command to #CS Timing: : 2T
Option 3
Stay at 2 but with tighter timings. I found this less effective to performance.

Code:
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) : 2.0
DRAM Timing Selectable : Manual
Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time: : 4
DRAM RAS# to CAS# : 4
DRAM RAS# Precharge : 4
Precharge Delay(tRAS) : 12~15 my 8500 do 10 try between these
Advanced Timing Control Manual
ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD) : 3
Rank Write to READ Delay : 3
Write To Precharge Delay : 6
Refresh to ACT Delay : 35
Read To Precharge Delay : 3
tRD : Auto or 7
tRD Phase Adjustment : auto
Command to #CS Timing: : 2T
THose aren't set in stone we have different ram but it might give you some reference point to experiment from. Obviously platying with your vdimm as you feel.

Luck

thx

I've tried the 2 steps but the system won't boot :/ Guess that the fsb won't allowed it.

Sorry fopflugel,
I Mis-sread your Ram specs Thought they were 8000 1000, not 6400 800 so options 1&2 Become a little ambitious. good job i'm going to optician's on tuesday

Option 3 should work though Tras will probably have to be 15. Try 2.1~2.2 volts If no success i'd try memtesting each module just to checjk that theit ok.

luck

Thanks for the welcome guys

Seems like alot of people are having the same issue with running memory on 4's timings.

I have corsair XMS2 PC2 6400 (1.8v)which defaults at 5-5-5-18-?-42 but it has a "performance Profile" of 4-4-4-12-?-42 (2.1v)but it cant seem to run properly on 4's (even on default fsb) so right now its on 5-5-5-12-?-35 etc with static read control of 8.

Still playing with some settings and voltage, but the system is fast and reasonably cool.
One more thing, raising the mch (and pci-e/fsb) voltage seems to help with overall system temps according to core temp. Maybe if you leave mch-pci-e-fsb on auto with an overclocked cpu, the sytem overvolts the cpu to compensate....i dunno but its funny my machine is cooler since i raised the voltages on everything except cpu.

Seems to have a mind of itsown when it comes to voltages... but anyhow more testing to do.:

Tried option 3 with Tras 15 and it crashed:
The 3.3V is quite unstable.

Tried different DDR2 volts ( +0.10 , +0.20 , +0.30, +0.35, +0.40)

As Padantic says

I must admit most of the time i've been running with >=1000 so I've run at 5,5,5,10~12 most.

You might try 4,5,5,15 ?? & experiment with TRD of 7 or 8.
It's also worth while knowing what timings Auto is using. I use Memset
to see what the values are. Performance Level = TRD.

What poweer supply are you using.??
At 1st glance the 3.3v chart looks bad. But it's the 12v rail that is used by most key components, cpu mobo & memory. Some 3.3v is used by Hard drives. There is an ATX12V
Power Supply Design Guide
which specifies the maximum DC Output Voltage Regulation as you can see (Page 13 Section 3.2.1. DC Voltage ) there is a range of +/-5%
Taking that +/- 5% of 3.3v = Min 3.135v to Max 3.465v so the fluctuations in your chart are well within tolerance the biggest variation is at 1M from 3.31v to 3.301 = 0.03%

So I don't think you have to worry about the 3.3v so much.

luck
