you get that whenever a board is superceded. I've seen the crack over on xs about

The DPC audio latency
but to be honest haven;t taken much notice of it and haven't used the x38 with wolfdales so again can't comment.

If it's that bad tthen I guess you go for it then
Edit:
In answer to your point re bios updates if you check out here Neue Gigabyte™ BIOS Updates: is probably the best source

What happened to this site? It appeared to be down for about 24 hours here in the US. I did live through it however.....

You wouldn't believe it m8, Clunk was abducted by aliens , 6 foot Amazonian like female bipeds , who needed him to propagate their failing race. As part of the dastardly plot Thry wiped the forum of it's old server.

We're fortunate that Clunk was up for the task and as a reward they gave him some new alien technology and a brand new server.

Clunk tells me that though they might need his services again , they regret the server zapping and have set up a secret sub forum up here. They were impressed by the forum content and have realised that other mambers here may be able to help them in their quest of survival.

So if any member wants to volunteer, read this The Truth is out there

luck

Appears like in GB are sleeping...(i'm already searching periodically in jzelectronic)... 23/4 the last x48-dq6 beta bios... 3/4 the last x38-dq6 beta bios, i hope new BIOS will come soon.

I'm using (private) F9b BIOS and it's ok, DPC latency is better but not good.
And " you get that whenever a board is superceded" yes, it's the main reason for trying to do that cross flash. In the near future the situation could be worse for x38-dq6 mb, and remembering Asus with A8N-SLI and A8N-SLI premium and BIOS updates, this came to my mind.

Im still searching the way... with quad bios, exist any danger for a dead mobo?

Well the gigabyte has 2 bios in case the 1st fets crrupted , the 2nd should cut in . There is a key sequence i think to invoke the 2nd bios , i'm not sure & not tried it. I'd read the manual 1st .
You also have the problem of forcing a flash which you need to get round. The normal bios flash routine may spit it's dummy and not let you flash a bios with a another mobo code on it.

It may be best from a floppy or usb drive where you can manipulate the flash codes to ignore checking

if you can get round those it might work. At the end of the day though I 'd not bother myself

luck

Yeah I have had those pesky Amazonian Women hanging around my place lately too! They have been secretly trying to get me to upgrade my pc again and it seems like it has only been a few months since my last....... My wife caught them peaking in the windows last night and scared them away, so it looks like I am safe for a little while at least!

Ahhhh I'll have to check , maybe that's the reason I have the same compulsion to spend £ on parts.

Default Server Upgrade

Congratulations Clunk on the new equipment upgrade. The forum is working smooth as butter it seems. I'd be happy to take that DFI X38 board off your hands. It might satisfy those Amazonian Women hanging the place. I think SuperShanks has the same issue!

Congrats on the Upgrade!
