Agh, I'd purchased the Thermalright HR09 U Type 2 a few days ago for my GA-EX38-DQ6. Back then it was still listed as compatible on TR's website, they've taken it down now: hxxp://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/chipset/hr05_ifx/05-09-mcl.htm. However, I did notice they have a new Type 4 sink coming out soon, wonder if that'll be compatible with my board: hxxp://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/product_mosfet_cooler.html

Either way, I'm pretty dissapointed with Thermalright.

Thanks, pleasure to be here.

I'm trying to get in touch with Thermalright to find out if the Type 4 is compatible with the x38-DQ6 and, if so, whether they'd strike me some sort of deal (a trade in, or something of the sort) since the error was on their part.

Yep well I wouldn't hold my breath. A;; types so far have the samr width at the mossfet block - 15.5mm it needs to be i would guess about 13mm see Technical Spec Pics Type4 isn't shown yet.

Judging from that picture though, the Type 4 does seem to be a little thinner than the previous ones. But considering it's just concept art, I agree about the not holding my breath. I've shot Thermalright an email about it, hopefully they'll respond soon.

well so far i'm not having any luck getting my system to POST after making several tweaks with this new ram. it seems like the 800MHz crucial stix i had before were more stable. i tried your recommendations, shanks, but it didn't like it. i did manage to get it to POST at these current settings, but for some reason i can't get it past 1066.

any suggestions or recommendations?

Have you tried any other straps /dividers . What about 400fsb at 2.66D I found 2.66D to be far the most stable strap??
Try the setting you have & the ones I mentioned at other memory ratios Ty the B set as well.
Have a look at Stable - 9x400

luck

Got a response from thermalright:

The HR-09 type4 is mainly for nVidia chipsets mobos, and we are now modifying the design to achieve more compatibility.

The full specification and compatibility list will be shown on our website once available.

I'm eager to get my system back in my case so I might just end up getting a different MOSFET cooler instead of waiting to see if there will be compatibility. Supershanks: how did the Enzotech Mosfet Heatsink - MOS-C1 work out for you?
