Hi chotto69,
really need some more info on your memory, i'm not familiar with them. What's the rated timings & voltage?? If you don't know there should be a part number on the side of your modules. Make a note of it & find it on somewhere on Corsair.

The TRD setting seems key on this mobo for stability Experiment with different values in the 5~7 region , see what's best.

Another good toiol is Memset
You can use this within windows to see what values your memory timings are set to. This is especially useful, when using Auto in bios.

It may take a bit iof time but i'd:-
1) get the real values used for your memory tiimings when on auto by using memset.
2) Check that they agree with corrsair spec.
3) Check voltage = Manf spec (ddr2 =1.8v so if your ddr2s rated at 2v then over voltage =0.2 )
4) Try different TRD settings.

luck

I have to say that the SPD Multiplier is something still obscure to me: i don't understand the difference between 2.00A, B, C or D. For example, with FSB 350, to run my mem at 700, which 2.00x should i set?
Yep in theory they shouldn't make too much difference, as you say they all give same answer , it's whichever works for you. As there may be different features/settings in each strap (A~D) it may give different stability , performance results. Not tried it much myself.

Hi and thanks for your reply. My mem is XMS2 PC2-6400 rated 5-5-5-12 2T @1.9V. Do you think the bottle neck of my system is the memory? I was under the impression that until i hit 800Mhz, the memory was OK since that is the frequency it's supposed to work...
If you think so, I'll try to play with memory's values to see if anything changes for the best. Thanks again for the advice.

Bottom line is your memory will be ok. As i tried to say there are some issues where the Autio settings are wrrong or too tight & cause stability issues. So experiment with different TRD & Refresh to ACT Delay try slacker timings here like 7 & 36

Maybe
Code:
Cas Latency Time : 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# : 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge : 5
Precharge Delay(tRAS) : 12
Advanced Timing Control
ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD) : 4
Rank Write to READ Delay : 4
Write To Precharge Delay : 6
Refresh to ACT Delay : 36
Read To Precharge Delay : 4
tRD : 6 or 7 ??
tRD Phase Adjustment : auto
Command to #CS Timing: auto

Also maybe try
FSB OverVoltage Control : normal or 100~200
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control : normal 100~200
I've been playing with 9x430 and have found that the C & D straps seem better so in answer to your earlier question 2C might be worth trying.

luck

Hi Nova ,
Those Temps seem fine. When i was running on air i used 65C as my cut off point. If it was hitting my cut off continually then i lowered temp, hitting it occasionally that was fine.

We all have a max temp that we feel comfortable with, it's really up to you.

luck

Hi supershanks, unfortunately i had not luck playing with those TRD & Refresh to ACT Delay settings. This mobo is very picky about memory and voltage: with my previous 975X I could hit 3000Mhz without changing the standard voltage, now it's impossible without considerably raising the Vcore. Also, at stock 2.40 Ghz, using my DDR2-6400 as 5300, i could tighten the timings @ 4-4-4-12 without any problems, while now this mobo won't even post! I am seriously considering to return it and getting a P35 instead.

Yers I As I've said the Auto sub timings particularly can be wrong.

What do your timings show from the SPD Column for Dram timings as shown here

Hi,
the SPD settings are as follows:
ACT to ACT Delay: 2
Rank Write to Read Delay: 10
Write to Precharge Delay: 12
Refresh to ACT Delay: 42
Read to Precharge Dealy: 2
tRD: 9
tRD Phase Adjustment: 13
Command to #CS Timing: 2

As I don't fully comprehend these timings, it's difficult for me to adjust them other than trying what you advised me.
It may be related to these setting, but benchmarking my mem with Everest, it seems to me that it performs horribly compared to other memory listed for reference in the test results and to what i remember i got with my previous 975X. I don't remember exactly my figures before, but now, at stock speed, with memory running at 533Mhz, I get:
Read Speed: 5013 MB/s
Write Speed: 4827 MB/s
Copy Speed: 4874 MB/s
Latency: 100.6 ns (!)

As usual, thanks for any advice.
