So your trying to change system memory multiplier from 3.2 to 2.5
Not sure why it's not taking, as your selecting a lower mem speed. It sounds as if it's failing the change to 888 & is returning to the previous settings.

Hey Supershanks ...
nah all those temps were at full load ... Screenshot was taken after about an hour on prime (notice speedfan has all cpu cores at 100%). Same with the NB and RAM temps were all at full load. Idle temps I'm getting are core0 = 34C, core 1 = 30C, core 2 = 34C, core 3 = 30C, GPU = 42C, NB = 45C, RAM = 38C.

Oh well in that case things look a lot better![]()
It was just with prime stopped that threw me.
Only slight issue i would have is still with memory, like yourself i have a sensor on show temps avge about , 33.5C idle load up to 45C tops. so 55C load would concern me a little.
Otherwise looking good![]()
Yea, I think its due to having 4 sticks and no direct airflow over them. Was thinking about mounting three 40mm fans on the ram some how. Or maybe looking round and seeing if there is any other cooling solutions for the ram.
So 45C idle and 55C Full Load is acceptable for the temperature of the NB heat sink ? (could possibly mount a 40mm fan on that too if nessesary)![]()
I use
Corsair Dominator Cooler i'trs the most effective i know. the problem of using larger fans is the y leave dead spots near the centre. you should finfd it good for about 10C reduction.
once you start ocing you'll be able to see temps. a fan should be easy to rig if needed.

okay, so i'm back to 3.0GHz trying to figure out exactly what the problem is. so i currently have a ratio of 5 to 8. which seems to remain the same when i go to 355x9. is it better to have a ratio or 1 to 1 or do i want to go a lil higher than 1:1?

@supershanks@
Does the corsair cooler can clip on any memory?
What settings do you use for 24/7 for the x38-dq6 / Q6600?
3.7....3.8....3.9 :-)~
PS I ordered a pair of ballistix 8500 to replace my HyperX 9600 !! I will let you know as soon as I get them if I can get better overclock.
