Hi LongRifle,
I'd be inclined to maybe try 8x400 @2.66 apart from the multiplier try the serttings shown here Stable - 9x400

alternatively try 333x9 @3.2 with the same memory settings as above.which will give 3k cpu & 1067 ram.

Best bios for q6600 is F5G or F5H

Raid No see Intel Matrix Raid

Not that i'm aware of have you connected the 4pin molex plug on the mobo.

Euhm...

I have connect at each card the 6 pin, but the 4 pin ... Pls Explain
Do i have to connect a 4 pin molex in the mainboard direct from the power supply? (Power supply --> 4pin molex mainboard)

Default Back to O/C

Hi to everybody, particularly to supershank who has been so helpful when i first posted in this forum. I bought a better cooling and i am back with new impressions on this mobo. While not sharing enthusiastic results with my E6600 (particularly in term of Vcore i need to feed which is around the 1.50), I am currently happy with my "moderate" oc of 3300 Mhz with 50°C temperature at full load. I don't have the patience to fiddle with memory settings, so i've set the mem profile to Extreme and it works great in this way.
As most people have already mentioned, i think this bios is pathetic too. After many, many tests the bios that best work for me is...the initial F3! The results i get with both synthetic and real-life tests, show that F3 allows me to get better performance with my machine.
Keeping the same FSB and voltage settings, i can't even post with some bios releases, which is odd.
Another disappointing fact is the lack of support for this mobo on Gigabyte's part. Until now i've always been a loyal Asus customer so i was accustomed to have regular bios updates (too many updates, actually!), but with Gigabyte the latest non-beta release is the F4 released 3 months ago: IMHO that's very bad support for the DDR2 flagship...
I am reading with interests all the posts and waiting for a bios that might to allow a little improvement on my system, particularly in the temperature area.
Thanks to everybody

Hi chotto69,
Yes there is a definate set of bios to suit the different cores:-
Dual core = F3 & F4 (the only Official Bios as you say)
Quad Core = F5G & F5H
Later bta bios seem to have had a fairly indifferent reception.

At 1.50v for 3.3k you may be a little high on vcore but not perhaps by much. When i had my E6600 on my p5k i needed 1.525v for 12hr prime 9x400 3.6k
Your is in the same street Temps look good as well.
Don't know your current settings but if you try PCI-E overvoltage at 0.35v you may manage to drop vcore a notch.

Think my main problem with the nbios as i dsaid is the lack of meaninful twealing options compared to other boards. I get bored

Thank for the words m8, glad to see your reasonably happy.

It is stable. Tried prime95 overnight, folding@home CPU for over a week, played Crysis, MTWII, Witcher, COD4 demo, HL2 for hours without issues. Now two thing that I need to work on:

1. Lower the CPU Vcore because with higher ambient temperatures my CPU goes upto 72C at full load (prime95). It is winter in Chicago but summer might be a problem for my comp
2. Try better memory timeings/settings

thanks

Good going

Checkput my settings at the botom of this post Stable - 9x400 as your ram is 8000 rather than 8500 you might need to slacken the timings or increase vdimm.

luck
