hi Srf_Cast,

1st try changing
Limit CPUID Max to 3 -enabled --> Diisabled only needs enabling for older os

If no change try :-

Code:
System Voltage Control
DDR2 OverVoltage Control : +0.3
PCI-E OverVoltage Control : +0.3
FSB OverVoltage Control : +0.1 --->+0.2
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control : 0.175
MCH Reference Voltage Control : Normal
DDR Reference Voltage Control : Normal
DDR Termination Voltage Control : Normal
CPU GTLREF1 Voltage* : Normal
CPU GTLREF2 Voltage* : Normal
CPU Voltage Control : enabled Auto~1.40
Normal CPU Vcore : 1.4 - 1.55

Advanced Bios Features
CPU Multi-Threading Enabled
Limit CPUID Max to 3 -enabled ---> Disabled
No-Execute Memory Protect -enabled
CPU Enhanced Halt(CIE) -disabled
CPU Thermal Monitor 2 -enabled
CPU EIST Function -disabled
Virtuaalization Technology disabled
Hopefully that will help.
Let us know how you get on

luck

Thanks for your help supershanks.
I have just finished 24 hours of Blend without problems, now I have loaded your settings and will try small ffts again. I'll report tomorrow ... or sooner if it fails hehe

Default The Origins of Static Read Control Delay (tRD)

Hey everyone!

For those who would like to read on the tRD, what it is and what it does, there is a good article on it at anandtech.com anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=3184&p=8

I have my computer running for a week now without any problems overclocked to 3.6GHz Does anyone here have benchmark results let's say from Everest or Sisoft Sandra benchmarking programs. I would like to compare CPU and memory test results. I guess our only setup difference would be BIOS settings and memory used. CPU and memory benchmarks only.

good link
The Origins of Static Read Control Delay (tRD) though we've mentioned the relationship between TRD = Performance level in memset several times, as we've talked about the impact of trd on the clocking of this board

Overview
Quote:
The biggest problem setting is with the Static tRead Value Trd The value is modified according to the value of the Performance Enhance Settimg ([Standard], [Turbo] & [Extreme]) and strap used. The value selected on auto is often too tight. If running >400 FSB it’s best to use a minimum value of 7. The other option is to run at a lower Performance setting, with the corresponding performance hit.

Glad to see your stable m8 ., be good if you can share your timings & what bios your using so others can benefit from your success. Gigabyte GA X38 DQ6 Template

luck

hey guys,
i have been lurking on this site for a couple of weeks now doing research on this MB. i got it installed last week and it runs my Q6600 great at stock, but that is not why i bought it, i want to OC it. i would like to get it in the 3.0 range as i am only able to do this on air right now. the thing that is throwing me off is that most of you have pc- 6400 ram, i have crucial ballistix pc-8500. oh the MB came with F6 on the bios
can i get someones advise on this...i already sent supershanks a pm in regards to this....thx in advance....

Welcome to the forums LongRifle

No need for confusion, it's going to make no difference for a standard 3.0 OC whether you used 6400 or the 8500. Just carry on following Clunk's beginners overclocking guide and you should be fine.

Default pc-8500

LongRifle,

I got G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) with this board and it is working fine at DDR2 1000 settings (could be little higher) with CPU @ 3.6GHz. I have to post my BIOS settings...sorry but my C++ programming class took over my life. Today is my last day though, before winter break so I will have time to futz around. Read through this forum as you will find some help with bios settings that are a must for this motherboard.
