Hmm, I'm not sure of the mounting plate on this one, with the copper pipes being machined flat but integrated into the other base material, just seems wrong on all levels.

Different expansion properties between metal types (maybe), it looks like it was just shoved in there, rather than integrated, gaps between the pipes and the other material for the TIM to get stuck in.

Of course it may well help in the pipes being able to transfer the heat, as they are in direct contact, but personally, I don't like the look of it.
