Thoughts & a quick test.

The Propeller II's build quality is acceptable for this kind of product, but is slightly plasticky, the wires are also quite thin, and feel quite fragile.

Obviously, the styling is down to personal taste and if you have a windowed case - Personally, I think it looks ok, although I would prefer black

In use, in a sealed case, the cooler managed to lower my GPU load temps by 6c.

I suspect that this could be higher if;
  • Your case airflow wasn't good to begin with.
  • You had a pair of graphics cards running SLI/Crossfire.
  • You had a hardware RAID card.
The fan itself is fairly quiet, and is less noisy than the stock cooler on my 8800GT, however, if you use a passive GPU cooler and really low RPM fans on the case/CPU, then you may hear a faint whirring - again, it is down to personal preference.

This is one of those products where the results will differ for every situation, so no amount of results will tell you how it will perform in your system, it's a case of try it and see

Next - Conclusion..

Conclusion.

To sum up, if you have a case that doesn't have good airflow around the PCI/PCI-E area, or if you have any hot running graphics cards or RAID cards, then you could benefit from the Propeller II.

The differences in temps that it provides will vary hugely from system to system, but most people should see some improvement in their case temps at least.

Definitely worth a look.

Pros.
  • Can lower case temps.
  • Fairly quiet.
Cons.
  • Slightly plasticky construction.

Click the linkback at the bottom of the page and email their customer service people, they'll have a good idea of where to get them in Finland

The cooler goes in the slot next to the GPU/card that you want to cool.
