Here is mine..

Q745A553
E27439-001
01/04/08

I got mine the same day.

I am on 4.1Ghz atm (cant post a URL)

I have a really weird issue, I have to set really high BIOS vcore, I am currently at 1.45v

Yet..

PC Health Status = 1.31v
CPU-z = 1.32v
Everest = 1.32v

Something is wrong - and I am hoping its the BIOS vcore - not the readings..

Temps under ORTHOS are about 60 - 63 but I am on average cooling, I need to get my Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme installed.

Welcome to the forums ArCElM

If you go to your profile, you can enter your system specs in the "extra options".

Looks like mine is from a different batch, and mine says...."Intel core 2 quad e8400" and then on the front, it has e8400 written on in marker pen

LOL yes sorry, specs are done now.

Twins idd crazy huh..

tbh unless I have a total dud chip I just am not buying that I have to put 1.425 BIOS vcore to get it stable at 4Ghz, I am praying that like all my readers report - CPU-z, Everest, BIOS PC Health Status, and pretty much anything else, that, the chip is for some reason (likely a botched cmos/flash/BIOS/mobo - its been abused..) this chip is not getting the 1.425v I am setting, my temps would be way off also, with this mediocre cooling solution they would be through the roof with my current 4.1Ghz 1.45vcore, and vdroop my ass, not THAT much..

EDIT - for gods sake lol I cannot post a URL (screenshot of CPU-z etc)

as you can see I have 1.32v underload is 1.27v and temps top at 63 ORTHOS which ofc I know is borderline but I truly do not know if my mobo will survive yet another attempt to remove the TBT backplate so I can install my lovely new Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.

Just not sure what to do really but if this chip IS a dud and I am needing so much voltage for 4Ghz then its just that, a crap chip, and I guess I aint fussed if it dont last me long.

EDIT - OH ONE thing though, between our chips, my VID seems to be 1.0125v according to core temp.

Nice
I am at lan game party now, but even then i tried oc again after i saw this post of yours
At first i didnt know what C1 error you were getting, after i saw C1 on led display :P
I used flashmenu under vista to flash to 12 bios earlier. Now i tried in dos with new cmd line. Did that twice and still getting that C1. I downloaded manual and saw thats error from memory. So i thought that changing memory slots to 1,3 (was 2,4) will make it gone.
Unfortunately it didnt. So i still have C1.
Anyway, after many tries max fsb i got was 440 with Vcore 1.45. It locked up before booting to vista. Cant get more
Did you change other voltages or only vcore ?

Well if you are getting a C1 error and you checked and redid Bios several times, wouldnt you start to think it might be your memory causing the memory error?
Sorry I am an idiot but they take pitty on me and allow me to post still.

if you remember from the last episode Abit IX38 QuadGt isn't 45nm ready I had a nightmare using 12 & other bios , getting c1 errors etc., even at stock.

I thought back this morning & realised that i did something different when i flashed to bios 11 . i did it manually using the switches found here Ace-a-Rue's Bios Flashing Procedure

This afternon i altered the ABITFAE.BAT to use aces command line. I now have afully functional multiplier with 0.5 's as well.

i gather the "WB", write boot block, did the trick for your E8400...normally bios updates do not touch the boot block unless the changes are written in the new bios file to flash that area...the only exception is an AMI bios flashes the boot block every time....i am talking about manual flash in DOS.

from my understanding, boot block houses voltages, memory straps and, as you've seen, multi's.
