Ooooooooohhhhh. liking those RAM voltage options, fed up of only having 0.05v increments to play with, may make the ballistix last a bit longer per set if I could lower the voltage fractionally...... or not.........

I removed the heatspreaders on a brand new set of Tracers...the ones from the other thread that I was supposed to send back.

Hopefully these will last a bit longer

I guess you know...the BL2KIT12864AA1065 sticks can take 2.4v without a problem when cooled actively and then run with 4-4-4-12@575Mhz. With the same voltage, they run with 5-5-5-15@615Mhz.

The reason I took off the heat spreaders can be found in this thread.

I try and avoid putting much more than 2.3v through any D9 RAM nowadays as I have found that for any kind of prolonged use, even with active cooling usually results in dead sticks pretty quickly.

Your mileage may vary

Yeah, I've found 2.4v seems to kill them pretty soon even with a Dominator fan.... 2.35 lets me do what I want but still feels a bit high for D9 chips. Going to get some ProMos and have a play, they supposedly like 2.4+

Couldn't go any further on air.
so none of those were stable at all?? see it seems to me everyone may be feeding me crap... not here but on other forums everyone says with this mobo i should be able to do a stable 450+ on air on a quad no sweat at all.. 24/7.. they claim to be able to run around 3.8-4.0 24/7 with this mobo...

is this crap in your opinion?? i mean i can achieve 3.6 on a quad with nearly any p35 or x38 mobo out there so then spending more money on a so called better board seems piontless does it not?? or is it just me?

i have a freind who runs his q6600 at 3.7 27/7 on a 110$ blood iron??
