I dunno, he hasn't been online all day either, so he has probably set fire to his eyebrows

wow great review! Definitely a great read after my hiatus from PC tweaking (damn work gets in the way of everything!)

Anyway, I got myself a E8400, and 9800GX2 on the way for this mobo, with Corsair Dominator PC1066 2x2GB. I am a little worried about the temperature thing that you have mentioned in the review... Is there anyway to monitor the temperature accurately then?

I have a lot of catching up to do... This mobo has so many options that I have no clue about

Any recommendations for settings for air cooling? (I have a Noctua NH-U12P coming my way too, yeah I am binge buying stuff, since I've been deprived of tweaking for the past few months )

I'm not sure of the status of the wolfy temps at the moment. I know that on the DFI boards, you can set an offset for the CPU temps in the BIOS. I suspect this will have an effect on the temps shown in the monitoring software too

I like Thermalright coolers personally

Uhh, I will have to investigate more once I get everything running. How do people deal with it currently? I mean how do people find out how much to offset?

Oh I like Thermalright coolers too, I have an ultra-120 extreme for my q6600, I just figure I try something new, and that cooler looks to be a great one that is silent too.

I don't really know to be honest. Intel say that the temps are correct, so it's anyones guess really

Updates where mate?

I'm doing the X48 at the moment, so there won't be any more updates on this one from me, but other people can still post their stuff here, in fact that's the idea - post your overclocks and findings

Thanks for the photos for the GTL ref DMM read points !

Decided to get off my butt and do some multimeter measurements for GTL Ref CPU & NB voltages as well for my DFI LT X38-T2R as it's pretty tricky with QX9650 quad core cpus and trying to break 450FSB without tweaking GTL Ref CPU & NB voltages.

So far these are the measurements I've done for my DFI LT X38-T2R R.A03 revision board with 3/14 official bios and Made in Taiwan PCB. Of interest is seeing what the default GTL Ref volts are when the GTL Ref options are disabled - they default to approximately, 63%, 63% and 67% respectively.

Thanks for the table mate

It's funny you should mention the disabled thing - A few weeks back, Jimmy told me it was 67% for all (on the X48), and after a few others mentioned it was 63% for 45nm CPUs, I asked him to double check his results a couple of nights ago and he got 67% again with a dual core 45nm with the GTL Ref set to disabled.

I'm now wondering if the X38 and X48 show different values? Or do 45nm quads default to 63%?

It would be nice to finally get to the bottom of this
