The gigabyte straps are basically no different than any other intel chipset.
The Gigabyte terminology is different is all. Most other manufacturers talk of using the 333 or 1333 etc., gigabyte just use the shorter a~d suffix to denote the different base
FSB..
The other thing that Gigabyte do is express the divider including the DDR2 factor.
So running synchronous or 1:1 with the
CPU is in gigabyte speak 2.00, which accounts for the ddr2 rate.
So using your example with
FSB of 400 running
ram 1:1 = 400x2 (ddr2) = 800
There are slight differences sometimes between dividers of the same value (2.0) , dependent on
FSB, often va\riations in the amount of
MCH voltage needed, but by & large their really much the same.
