Yes gigabyte have had a few boards with wake up issues recently. My Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P has been doing it until a bios fix arrived the other week.

The purple Jmicron drivers for vista 64 should be fine for windows 7. Myself I prefere the Intel ports & usually have the jmicron ports disabled, unless I run out of ports.

Sound is fine for me can't help there, sorry.

Well, interestingly enough, when I connect my headphones to the output jack on the MB backplate, there is no interference at all. It is only off the front panel. I can live with rear panel connections! Pity that the noise is also external (probably from the case speaker).

Maybe case based, loose connection or as you say speaker.
Still at least you can manage with rear

Update:
RF interference issue may have been resolved: after a reply from Akasa, they said to check the front panel connection and whether I'd connected HD or AC97 audio to the MB. If it is the latter I needed to configure the software for the audio. I had had HD audio, so swapped it for AC97 and switched off HD option. Seems OK now.

Also @ the 450 x 8 and 2.4B strap, (3.6GHz), I got it to pass 20 runs of the Intel Burn Test set on Maximum!

Hi supershank! Thanks so much for this thread, it's so awesome it hurts And thanks to the Clunkmeister for his C2D overclocking guide.

So far I've just used EasyTune and a couple manual settings in the BIOS but I don't want to push it too much, I can't afford new parts

Anyway, I've got the FSB at 350MHz and RAM at 840MHz. vCore is 1.488V. Can't complain about an E2160 running at 3.15GHz with minimal effort now can I?

I have 2x1GB PC6400 Kingbox RAM (shut up) but I'm able to drop tRAS to 15 from 18. Mem voltage is 1.984V. I bought the RAM sticks separately but they run in dual channel mode no problem (there's quality control for you!).

It idles at about 28 degrees and after 10 minutes of Prime95 torture test it hits 59. I'll torture it more while I sleep comfortably tonight
