this is the final results. my rams have no problem tested with memtest 8-9 hour. i can do every thing with single channel but in dual computer don't starts i push the start button 2 sec later there are continuous beeps and then restarts itself no bios no monitor viewing nothing just beepping (says power error in manual) i tried it with all bios 3-4-5-6-7 and clear the cmos and fail safe defaults and overclocking-downclocking anything i can do but couldn't solve this problem. i still use in single channel. I HAVE TO THANK SUPERSHANKS FOR ALL HE DİD FOR ME.

    Here is my config:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 E0
    GigaByte EP45-UD3R Rev 1.1
    Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2K2/4G 2x2GB 1066
    500 GB WD HDD
    Tagan BZ600 PSU
    HIS HD4850 TurboX

    Help me pick a MB

    Hi Superhanks,

i can see that you have a good experience with overclocking q9650, so i wanted to ask which motherboard is best for overclocking it?
    GA-EP45-EXTREME or GA-EP45-UD3R?

Thanks for your help in advance

    Hi skjafar,
    Welcome to the forum
I've not had a q9650, so can't really comment, sorry.
Both boards are good, have pretty much the same bios. The Extreme has the dual phase GTL ref which may give slightly better clocks with the quad. depends on your wallet really. tHe GA-EP45-UD3P is worth a look if you want crossfire further down the road.

    Hi,

I get my EP45-UD3R today and play with.

First start was crap as my 7600gt is dead so I borrow the 7600gt's friend.

    Started to O/C the ram

    here is my setup:

    E6600
    EP45-UD3R (rev.1.1 - Bios F6)
    Cellshock PC8500 2x1gb D9GMH
    250GB HDD
    7600GT XFX
    Seasonic S12 500W
    DVD samsung

    my first try:

    is that real ? Am I at 1200 DDR2 ? cpu-z can't report the value but everest show it and that's what I set in the bios ( FSB 450 / Ram 1200 )

aye nice going looks like it you use 2.66D ram divider ? see Se Pics 5~7
how stable is it ? that might explain cpu-z, alternatively running multiple insatbces of cpu0-z nmay be the prtoblem. It's often worth having 2 installs of CPU-Z which work better with a couple of shots of each.

    Hi supershanks,

At this point there was no stability (that was with strap 200 => 2.66C , the strap 400 seems buggy; wrong ratio)

So today I managed the stability at DDR2 1200 and I succeed 1H00 Blend test at least

Unfortunately my E6600 don't seems to like High FSB, I max boot into windows at 500 fsb / 600 Ram but it reboot before any bench.

    Hi,

    Finaly I succeed to stabilise the 500 / 600

I have discovered that the voltage asked in the bios for CPU REF , MCH REF and MCH/DRAM REF are not the one applied in Easy tune ( lower), that's explain why I couldn't reach this FSB when I was applying the forum's founded settings.

Now I have to manage the exact voltage for 32M at these fsb/ram

    edit : I can't post image any more ?
