Unhappy Oops

Bugger, I listed all my components in the Edit Extra Options part of my User CP but it doesn't seem to be showing them, so here they are:

Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula (BIOS 1004)
Processor: QX9650 OC to 3.51 (390 x 9) Auto Volts showing 1.240V-1.248V
HSF: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Mem: 8Gb OCZ 6400 @ 1:1 390Mhz 5-5-5-15 T2 (from CPU-Z)
Graphics: PNY 9800 GX2
Hard drives: Boot=Hitachi Deskstar 160Gb Storage=2xSamsung spinpoint F1 1Tb drives
Sound: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Case: Coolermaster Stacker 810
PSU: Antec Truepwer Quatro 850W
1x fan directly drawing air over HD's, 1x fan @ back of case expelling air, 1x side door fan drawing air into NB/Memory (these all 120mm) and finally 1x 80mm roof fan expelling air.

DRAM Voltage : AUTO
You need to set that to whatever the RAM is rated for - thats for sure

The above might enable you to enter your main timings.

Ai Clock Twister : MODERATE - auto/disabled

Hi

After reading the live-in review (what a great concept!) of the DFI X38 LT, I had to register.

I was actually trying to get a hold of that board, but could only find the Maximus locally

My setup:
E8400
2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500
Maximus Formula
8800Ultra
WD Raptor 74GB primary HDD, 500GB + 325GB secondary hard disks
Danger Den WC High Flow Setup: 120mmx1 GTX radiator, Laing DDC pump, DD TDX Copper water block.

I lapped the cpu, applied Arctic Silver on all the heatsinks and installed my water cooling kit on the weekend (today's a work day for me).

It would make my life a lot easier if any E8400 overclockers here could post their BIOS settings. I have no idea what voltage ranges are acceptable for the NB, SB and a lot of the settings are new to me. I also don't know how hot the NB gets so yeah, I'll probably need two weeks to figure everything out on my own.
Thing is, I just want a 4Ghz cpu overclock and a 1Ghz ram overclock. A 500x9 1:1 overclock is pretty standard now from what I've seen in the forums, I thought I should ask instead of being redundant and going through the steps everybody else went through before.

So, anybody who got a 4Ghz cpu overclock on the E8400 care to post their BIOS config and BIOS version?

BTW I removed the motherboard heatsink before powering up and I can confirm that the thermal paste - or rather thermal tape as it appears - is very pliant and easy to remove.

Hi mashakos,
Welcome to the forum
I don't have your board but dio have the same cpu. 4k on your E8400 shouldn't be an issue. It aslo shouldn't be necessary to increase sb or nb voltages to get there.

To get an idea of vcore needed check out My E8400 Clocks or Intel E8400 Wolfdale Living Review

Your ram should run ok anywhere between 1067 & 1200,. I found daya to day running was fine around 1100~1150Mhz. Just make sure you have decent cooling on your ram.

luck

Is this forum still getting support? I never get any user post replys even though I'm subscribed to get all post via email. I do get the link backs so just curious.

Anywayz, any current 45nm quad users, spacifically the Q9450 or 0550?

It's because your email address bounces any emails back to our server.

Comcast email servers don't like ours for some reason.

You could try a different email address, or even checking the forums and posting occasionally

Edit: I have sent 2 test emails from 2 different accounts/servers to see if you get them. Also check your spam folder.

If you try unsubscribing from the thread and subscribing again, that might work, especially as you got the test emails

It's been a while since I'm been here. Anyways I'm still on BIOS 0505, any new BIOS version that is better than the 0505?
