if u mean for windows instalation,... NO

but there are 2 outer ways

1. use a 3,5 Flobby drive
or
2. U can rebuild a XP cd with the drivers u need

For a mild overclock - try this, you may need to play around with the CPU voltage to get stable.

Hello,

New since my last entry on your board and some careful testing with the adjustments proposed.

I tried, from these settings to mount frequency. From 10 to 10, I arrived (stable) until 3608 Mhz
This gives me on cpu-z :

401 bus speed / Rated Fsb 1603.6 MHz / Core voltage 1.328 V
My memory is 534.6 MHz frequency for a Fsb DRAM of 3.4 and timings 5.5.5.18 - 2T.

Stable at this level with OCCT 2 X 30 minutes.
In addition, when I pass the bus speed to 403, the machine is unstable

I explain this to a lack of experience for overclocling and especially a bios 0505 tricky.
In fact, it seems that a new bios is out for maximus ?

But we will get there. For information, I had a P5B Deluxe and with the same processor, I arrived at 3800 Mhz stable ... It must come from these famous settings.

My English comprehensible ?

Thanks again. Good Sunday

programmed to JEDEC standard latency 800Mhz timing of 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V

what do I need to do to get a cpu that runs at 333 to run 1:1 with mem.

Please help me
333Mhz on the CPU would = 667Mhz on the RAM @1:1 - It's always double

Sorry you havent had a reply mate, it was 4am when you posted, so thats probably why!

Anyway, to answer your question.

If you are using vista, yes you can load your drivers from a USB stick, but if you are using XP, the best way of doing it would be to use N-lite and slipstream them into the setup disc, as XP will only let you use floppies by default.

Yes I know, but Iwant more than that I have ddr2 800 sticks, how do I bump up the fsb to 400MHz like the ram?
do I go to 1.372v on the cpu and use the multiplyer? if so can you detail, dont want to mess things up I am new at this, I want to bump up alitle to get things to mach or what you just told me do it atomaticly?

Last edited by jorgito05; 04-11-2007 at 16:38.. Reason: want to get 400MHZ both fsb and ram

You would need to use a divider then. Just use the closest divoder to what your RAM is rated at, or you can try slightly higher dividers if your RAM is up to it.

Or, you could go for 400x9 and run the RAM at 1:1, that would give you the 800Mhz on the RAM.

Bah, I just phoned Yoyotech and they said straight no to exchange based on not being able to go over 430FSB, which is in a way understandable but also sad when they have partnerships/ads with overclocking communities like CustomPC mag and Hexus forum.

Sent an technical request to Asus, hope they give me good news.

Anyway, just curious, is there a CPU temp difference in running 9x400 compared to 8x450? I understand the performance boost in memory bandwidth is not very noticeable other than extensive benchmark, but how about voltages?
