Would the CPU cooler fit if you turn it 90 degrees?

You can turn either of them 90 degrees, but not both if you see what I mean?

I have fitted the Porter and an S1283 with the CPU heatsink oriented in "the traditional way"; i.e drawing air over the memory and blowing across the VRM's. I am using the S1283, but I guess the dimensions are virtually identical; width wise anyway.

It is also possible to rotate the Porter, but in doing that the first PCIe slot is unusable and it gets a little tight with the CPU Cooler if that is in traditional orientation.

I do have some pics of the before and after which I was planning on posting at some time. Clunk kindov beat me to it, but his offering is a lot better than the inane rambling which I would have presented.

    Hi DualCore

The porter will fix to virually any chipset, it's the actual layout of the board and slots which determine if it is practical to do so

I've just had a look at the Mobo on the LanParty Website

I assume the northbridge (or is it MCP on AMD boards) is the lower left. It will fit, but it looks like it will obstruct one of the PCIe slots depending on which way you mount it. It may fit horizontally (mounting parallel to the memory) depending on the depth of your graphics cards.

Someone with experience of that particular board may have better advice as to what would be a good choice for the Chipset cooling.

Looking at that board, it looks like it could obscure at least one of the slots. Will you be running two large cards int he PCI-E slots?

How tight is the fit? The Xigmatek site says it's 120mm wide, you reckon it would fit if it was 125mm?
