Nice pictures, but can somebody tell me why curling is an Olympic sport?
Not that you don't need skill, but I consider sport only more physical kinds of competition.
I mean even poker and chess are competition, but they're not in the Olympics.

I see... Well. At this point I should inform you that I intend to form my own team, and destroy the molecular bonds that bind your very matter together and reduce the resulting particulate chaos to tears.
...If he doesn't win this decision I'm gonna burn my headset and run naked through the crowd.

I'd say that curling is as physical as some of the other sports.... bobsleigh for example.... all you really do is run then sit there and lean a bit.

Yep, but the guys that push the bob go through intensive training (weights etc) to get the most out of the push phase.
On the other hand anyone can practice curling with no physical preparation.
I don't really know why they separate men and women, it's a pure skill game.

I'd think that curlers practise just as much as bob-people though, don't you think? Many olympic events are about skill rather than strength/speed.... archery, shooting events, diving, knitting, etc. (okay, maybe I made that last one up )

I take your point though, it does seem like a bit of a granny sport.
