Default Graphics can't keep up with system speed

I know, I know, 2 x 8800gt's with an qx9770 at 3600mhz and memory at 1800mhz is asking for trouble but for now I have to deal with it, no money.

The graphics can't completely keep up with the overall system speed, thats for sure, I know.
I had to lower the memory timings because of that, I've got random crashes when playing FSX, after loosen the timings not anymore.
The strange thing is that I have tested my settings with Prime95, 3Dmark, Pcmark advance and numerous more without faillures.

Is my statement correct or do I search for something else?

Let me understand, What the graphic cards have to do with the crashes?? You mean you lowered the timings on the Graphic Memory?

No, the graphics card can't keep up with the overall speed of the cpu -> memory -> graphics card. Have overclocked, except the graphics card, the system more or less heavely
What I believe is that the cpu (qx9770-3600mhz) and the memory (1800mhz) are to fast transporting the frames to the card which can't cope with it, I lowered the timings of the memory wich gave an much better result, less stutters because the card now get the time to handle an frame before the second frame is arriving; the frames where overlaying each other, that's my observation.

My theoretical stuff could be wrong but it is what I see.

You mean you feel your 8800GT's in SLI are a bottleneck, throttling the performance. I doubt its a bottleneck but just an aging GPU showing its age as you push more demanding software though them. Sell on ebay, 40-50 each and buy a 260 GTX or 4970/90 1gb. Should cost you very little once youve moved the 8800GT's (ebay them, they are very popular with Folding Farms as there cheap and have a good PPD).

Problem solved. Maybe.

The crashes where caused by the timings being too tight. It's true that your system will benefit from a faster video card, the CPU you have is very fast compared to the 8800GTs in SLI.
Stuttering is sometimes a problem with SLI systems but it's not caused by the system memory and the speed of the system has got nothing to do with it really.
If anything a fast system will help.

FSX does not support sli and my gtx285 only just runs it the way i like it also nvidia chipsets are not the best and can cause loads of problems ie crashes, bsod ect.

I have an similar system as mine running by an friend with...... of course FSX only with two GTX280's, its running well.

I personally have no troubles with FSX and SLI, from what I understand SLI runs completely separate from any program/game, there is no need of special programming but I could be wrong?

Because I raised the FSB and in accordance to that raised the bandwidth extremely the GT's can't handle that, but you, I guess, are an FSx fanatic so you will know that bandwidth is very, very important with FSX.

Wait.
Please let me make a point: if your CPU-memory system is really really fast and the video card(s) hold it back, hiding its true potential, it will not cause any problem: if the video card(s) cannot process data at the speed the CPU is capable of, the CPU processes less data, it slows down accordingly.

From what ive read FSX likes more cpu that gpu but powerfull cards are always a bonus and you should cap you max fps to about 30 or so as no higher is needed for it to run smooth.
