Default My first overclock/settings

lo

new stuff arrived today, pc is kind of built on my table, had a go at overclocking, read alot of stuff but just wanted to post up my settings to you all, can you see any problems at all? or anything that needs adjusting?

vista x64
q6600
ballistix 2x1gig PC-5300 / 4.4.4.12
ip35-pro

i still need to adjust the ram timings, and it will be 4x1gig soon, had to send back 2 of the sticks cause for some reason they had different heatsinks on them?

obviously not going for insane ocs right now, 3/3.2 is fine for me for the time being!

cheers

Oops, sorry, I missed this one

It all looks fine to me, but you could disable virtualisation and execute disable bit, unless you are specifically using them, which I suspect you aren't

There is no safe vcore. Potentially, anything over and above the stock VID **could** cause damage.

The amount of vcore that you use, should depend on how good your cooling is, how comfortable you feel with the temps, and how stable it runs.

Theres no sense in chucking 1.6v at a cpu just to get it to boot into windows, so you need to find the happy medium, and maybe go for a little less vcore and a little less speed.

Once you really get to know what makes your system tick, then you can start tweaking stuff.

Anyway....

Yes, those BIOS settings look good to me. The BSODs can be a few things, but can you please list all your system specs in your profile - extra options and I'll be able to help you better.

All the parts look fine as well.

DO you get any BSODs if you set the CPU to 266 and the ram to 1066?

The reason I said to try 266/1066 is to see if your ram is working properly. Can you try 266/800?

For a G0, you are looking at somewhere around 1.4v for 3.6Ghz, and thats assuming that yours isn't a really bad one.

Try 1.42v max, and also try the 8 multi. and do 450FSB
