It appears that the latest and highly anticipated Ubisoft game, FarCry 2, comes with a huge flaw and no, it's not his draconian DRM.

If you use a 16:10 or 16:9 AR screen, instead of getting a wider FOV (Field Of View), all you get is a cropped down 4:3 image.
Yes, the game renders a cropped 4:3 frame, and this is obviously absurd as one of the advantages of wide aspect ratio screens is that you see more compared to a traditional 4:3 screen, not less (the other one is that widescreen LCDs are cheaper to produce, but that's another story).
An unofficial patch is out already (
clicky), but it's SP only as PunkBuster will give you the boot from the server when you login.
