Default DFI Launch LT X-48 T3RS - Now With a Thermalright HR-05 On The Northbridge!

DFI have announced their latest motherboard using the X48 platform, the LT X48 T3RS.

It's identical to it's big brother, the UT X48-T3RS that I reviewed, except for the on board cooling.

The LT model comes with what DFI describe as "The Secret Weapon" - a Thermalright HR-05 for the North bridge, and this appears to be a great move because the old NB heatsink wasn't compatible with large air coolers such as the Thermalright Ultra Extreme.

It's a nice idea, since most DFI owners will use a large non stock cooler on the cpu, and would've been forced to discard a perfectly fine heatsink just because it won't let you install the TRUE the way they wanted.
This way Everybody is happy, since the end user has payed only for one NB cooler, DFI can overcharge the version with the HR05 and still leave the user happy, Thermalright sells more NB coolers!

Well, I would hope that this version is at least £30 cheaper than the UT, hopefully a bit more...we will see
