Default DFI LANParty DK X38-T2R 2nd DFI X38 Mobo

Though we have yet to see the LANPARTY LT X38-T2R in the stores yet, in the uk at least, it looks like DFI are repeating the p35 pattern & releasing a 2nd X38 board the

A second Intel X38 Based LANParty DK X38-T2R Motherboard?

Look very similar to P35 , very nice, Certainly io think the cooling looks prefereable to heatpipes. I'm still not clear what the difference is between these boards.

I'm not sure what the differences between those two DFI X38 boards are, the release blurb says the DK X38-2TR (due this month) has 4 phase Digital PWMs, but looking at that pic they look like regular PWMs to me

The DK is a chopped down version. I haven't seen one yet myself in the flesh, but I also though t they had digital PWMs - I have emailed the techy bloke at DFI to double check, so I should find out tonight or tomorrow for you

About the PWMs....

"
DK series are using Intersil newer PWM IC which has support Intel SMbus interface to control Vcore voltage, it is 4 phase (16 MOSFET) pwm solution. Generally somebody called it is a Digital PWM as well, because it is control via SMbus.

But it still base on traditional PWM structure (PWM IC+MOSFET), its power tranfering efficiency is not higher as like Volterra solution( Digital control bus design without mosfet circuit)."

That ok for you?
