If the pricing info is accurate, it is going to be competitive for sure if they can get enough cards into the channel.

And I must admit, I like the way the heatpipes protrude from the heatsink casing. Looks mean. Also looks like the majority of the heat will be exhausted outside the case which is an advantage over the 5870.
