Default Hello from Aussie

Hi all. I'm new to the Clunk forums and look forward to screaming my way around the site. I hope to learn how to Oc my CPU and deal with FSB speeds and how it all affects other components. I have absolutely no idea how to oc but hopefully I can learn from the expertise of others here. Hopefully my rig is up to date, if not I'll get cracking and fix that right away.

Anyways, that's my short story.

Welcome aboard, Steve.

If you start with the C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners and change the stock cooling you will be good to go. If you have any questions start a new post in the relevant section about either air cooling, or any questions you have regarding the guide.

For a first time overclocker, my hat's off to you for going in at the deep end with a DFI. No harder, or better way to learn.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not sure where to start with the overclock. I don't really need much I don't suppose. I should start by manually setting RAM specs in BIOS and go from there. I had a read of the C2D for beginners that godsdog put up (cheers) I've been following Clunk's living review for a little bit now and found it to be fantastic in detail and offers a lot of useful info for the average user / clocker.

Great work Clunk +Kudos for you.

Welcome
As Godsdog said, it would be very wise to go fetch a CPU cooler before you attempt any overclock.
If you can't make your mind up, just ask.
But since you've been around reading in the forums, i think you'll have a pretty good idea of which ones are worthy.
