Default Greetings.....

Hello to you all,

I've just found this forum while researching motherboards, for a well overdue upgrade - I'm made up at the info offered, great stuff - nice and honest reviews, this will stand me in good stead for a fresh 'puter, I'm sure!

I've noticed that Intel based boards and cpu's seem to be the main flavour round here - nothing from AMD worth a look?

My outdated rig is Intel 3.4EE - ABit IC7 Max3 - 2GiB Geil DDR500 - ATi X850Pro, flashed to XT PE and raid, oh and a full Swiftech watercooling solution, MCP350-MCW5000-MCW20-MCW50-micro rez-tygon-BF Rad, sub 40's with everything overclocked - Love watercooling, so I hope I can add my thoughts and suggestions to the members here on what not to do!

Cheers guys' all the best!

Greetings to you Sean B

General rule of thumb at the moment is AMD is great in the budget sector. Intel based further up, with the P35 based boards being the sweetspot. X38/48 boards will settle down eventually, but don't really shine, hoping that changes. And eat plenty of pie.

Welcome to the forums Sean

No idea about AMD at the moment, I suspect that there isnt anything in their new lineup that would make me want to buy one, but will be interested to see how the figures go.
