Default Hello!

Hello everyone.
Thought id join after finding this site looking for info on the DFI X48 motherboards.

Basically up until sunday i had a nicely OCed AthlonX2 running at 3.0gig on a Nforce4 mobo.. but the mobo has died a death, and being skt 939 and DDR1 memory, thought it was a good time to upgrade!

Soooo after humming and 'arring i ordered some new kit from scan that was on today only:

Intel Q9450 CPU
DFI LT X48 T2R
4gig of corsair DDR2 XMS memory (not sure which type precisely, theres so many options!)

This will be accompying my OCed 8800GT

This will be my first Intel machine in a good few years, the last intel box i ran was a old HP Brio which was a 400mhz Celly and ive been a AMD man ever since, i was very fond of my old Tbird and Delta fan :/

Anyway the guides on this site will be a great help getting into Intel overclocking.. previously i have just bought CPU's known to be good steppings and just been very ham-fisted with OCing them.

Great site by the way.. hopefully i can put something back into the site once i know what im doing

Welcome to the forums Col

It is a good time to upgrade really, with the price of DDR2 being so low, you can build a system for relatively peanuts

I know your name from somewhere, is it Hexus?
