Default Pre-overclocked system problem. Q6600

Hey ppl. I brought a pre-built/overclocked system from overclockers about 12 months ago. Quad Q6600 2.4GHz overclocked to 3.30GHz, 2gig of Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 PC2-8500C5 RAM overclocked to (something :S). Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit.

Every thing's been fine until for some reason one of my RAM chips stopped working and I kept getting BSoD. Anyway, took that out and replaced it with 2 gig with the intention of claiming on the warranty for the 1. So iv got 3gig now and il add the 4th when i receive it.

My problem is, unless its me being paranoid, the overclocking seems to have gone. In system info it shows; Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz 2.4GHz, when before the final figure I'm sure was 3.30GHz. Also when i do a performances test through vista the Memory (RAM) figure has gone down to 5.5 from 5.7 before.

Do i need to do all the overlocking again myself or has something else got wrong?

Thanks guys. Sorry about sounding like a newbie which im sure i do, im hopeless when it comes to hardware. Thanks again!

Hi Carty,
Do you know your systems specs? If you do please ad them using this guide.

Then we can start to help. I think they were using the IP35 Pro in a lot of their systems last year does that sound right to you?

When you add more RAM often you will need to redo to the overclock to make it stable. Can you perhaps post your BIOS settings and version too please?

Vista scores are worthless, so don't worry about those.

Your story sounds very familiar..did you post it on hexus?

Yeah sorry about that, iv done them best as i can. I know i do have extra cooling hardware but i cant find info about it on the system.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...odid=FS-048-OK

That is basically the system i brought, they have updated it a slightly since i had it though with different manufacturers as you can see.

Can't reboot to get BIOS settings atm, but should be ok in a few hours time.

Figured the Vista scores wouldnt exactly be the best things to go on but thought id post them up just incase.

Yeah that is me on hexus , i found this site referenced on the overclocking guide and figured it would be abit more specific on the subject so worth a go. Hope thats ok

Remove one of the sticks of memory, reset the CMOS and try again...if that doesn't work, do the same again with the other stick.
