I think its meesed up that the motherboard bios doesn't let you see what all the voltage are at and on top of that that I have to rise them in increment instead up just displaying the voltage you want to choose meaning I would have to load windows look at them then restart the computer get in the bios and change them plz correct me if I am worng. so if I have to load windows to see my voltages will windows display the correct voltages and what program should I use to check the voltages? sorry for all the noob question just trying to understand how to do everything correctly
I'm slightly confused now. I thought you had a P5K31-VM?

Gigabyte boards are CTRL+F1 to see the hidden stuff

Gigabyte just have a different way of working, it's not to everyone's taste, but it isn't difficult to use.

An example of how it works would be the DRAM voltage. The default voltage for DDR2 is 1.8v, so you will see settings like 0.1, 0.2 and this just means that it will add 0.1 or 0.2 onto the stock voltage.....if you choose 0.2, it will give you 2.0v and so on.

thanks for the reply and yea like you it would be easy if I knew what the stock voltage for everything is like the nb . pci-e .ect I didn't know that the stock voltage for ddr2 is 1.8v thanks for that info any chance you are someone else can tell me what the stock volage for the

pci-e voltage ? I have and 8880gt

fsb volatage ?

mch/nb voltage ?

It might tell you in the manual what the voltages are, have you looked there?

PCI-E voltage? - Is it not frequency?

I can give you a rough idea on the FSB voltage - This will start at around 1.1v for a 45nm CPU and 1.2 for a 65nm CPU.

I will take a look as soon as ups bring me the motherboard

whats the best program in windows that I can use that will display my actual voltage?

Most of the voltage measuring software isn't too accurate.

Try everest, that should give you a fairly close figure, and there might be one of gigabytes own tools that comes with the board that you can use.

hi everyone wellyesterday I finaaly got my new Gigabyte X48 DQ6 and and intel Q9550. everything went smoothly my new build posted on the first time my cpu temp are

overclocked at 8.5 x 400 = 3400

at idle
core 1: 39c
core 2: 39c
core 3: 32c
core 4: 40c

at load with prime 95 with all four cores at 100% for 15 mins
core 1: 49c
core 2: 49c
core 3: 43c
core 4: 50c

I am in love with my new build I have also overclocked it a little and will post my current setting I was able to pass prime 95 for 15 min with these settings I then turn it off so I can wirte this I will start it back up as soon as I finish writing this will let you know how it goes

Thumbs up

Hi jgdsl
Failing large FFT Prime usually means an issue with ram rather than CPU. see Using Prime
Try the following & retest.
Code:
MB Intelligent Tweaker (MIT)
Robust Graphics Booster...........: AUTO
CPU Clock Ratio...................:8.5
CPU Frequency.....................:3.4GHZ (400X8.5)
CPU Host Clock Control............:ENABLE
CPU Host Frequency(Mhz)...........:400
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz).......:101
C.I.A.2...........................: DISABLE
Performance Enhance...............:STANDARD
System Memory Multiplier (SPD)....:2.00B
Memory Frequency(Mhz).............:800
DRAM Timing Selectable ...........:MANUAL
Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time (tCL)............:4
DRAM RAS# to CAS# (tRCD).........:4
DRAM RAS# Precharge (tRP).........:4
Precharge Delay (tRAS)............:12
Advanced Timing Control
ACT to ACT Delay(tRRD)............:AUTO
Rank Write to READ Delay (tWTR)...:AUTO
Write To Precharge Delay (tWR)....:AUTO
Refresh to ACT Delay (tRFC).......: AUTO
Read To Precharge Delay (tRTP)....: AUTO
Static tREAD Value (tRD)..........:AUTO
Static tREAD Phase Adj............: AUTO
Command Rate (CMD)................:AUTO
Clock Driving and Skew Control
CPU/PCIEX Clock Driving Control...:800MV (STOCK) ===> 700mv works ok.
CPU Clock Skew Control............: NORAMAL
(G)MCH Clock Skew Control.........: NORMAL
System Voltage Control () = Base Voltages
DDR2 OverVoltage Control...(1.80v):+0.25 = 2.05v whiich is probably too low try increasing & retesting
PCI-E OverVoltage Control.,(1.50v):NORMAL
FSB OverVoltage Control....(1.10v):NORMAL
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control,(1.25v):NORMAL =====> Up a notch or 2 won't harm
CPU GTLREF1 Voltage*.......(67%)..:AUTO ====> -3 seems to add to stability for 45nm
CPU GTLREF2 Voltage*.......(61%)..:NORMAL ====> -3
Loadline Calibration..............: DISABLE
CPU Voltage Control...............:ENABLE
Normal CPU Vcore..................:1.25-(STOCK) 1.26875-CURRENT SETTING RIGHT NOW
Note: * Hidden Features Press [CTRL] + [F1] from main Menu to Access

thanks for the replay I am going to try that now also note that ups just brought me my new ram which is

Newegg.com - OCZ Flex II 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1150 (PC2 9200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I am going to install it now and set the setting you recommed then I will run prime 95 and see what happens thanks
