Default New Overclocker

Hi folks, ordered my parts now (bar the cooler) and am aiming for a half decent OC on the chip - roughly 3.2/3.4

Core Parts:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Asus P5K Premium
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-6400C4 (2x2GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL4D-4GBPK)
520W Corsair HX

Would a realistic attempt be to aim for the multiplier at 8 with the fsb at 400? That way I could run the RAM at 1:1?

Cheers folks

You can do it that way, but using the 9x and a divider will give you the same kind of performance for most things.

You'll probably find that the RAM will default to it's maximum speed anyway, so before you start overclocking, remember to set it back to 1:1

No probs, it's just that a lot of people skim through it and miss that bit

The best thing to do is to try both when you get it. Whens the stuff arriving? will there be pics?
