Angry P5E + Q6600 overclocking help

Hi all
I’m could you guys give me some help with overclocking my Q6600.
At the moment I can get it to post, load windows and play crysis but it won't pass any stability tests.

The only settings I’ve changed in the Bios are
FSB 400
Multiplier 9
Ram divider 1066
Timing 5, 5,5,18 the rest auto
All voltages on auto apart from ram which is set to 1.96v.

I’m a bit nervy about upping the volts to much I’ve all ready killed two sticks of ram.
But I think this is down to the board overvolting. Which I found out about on the ASUS forum.
I know nobody is going to give me setting which work but I’ve read all the guides I can find and seem to be getting nowhere fast.
Thanks in advance
kris

Welcome to the forums (Even though you joined in November)

Please grab the P5E BIOS template from the templates thread and post all your settings.

That should speed things along

Edit: Just realised there isn't one - Please just list all your BIOS settings, or do screenshots.

thanks for getting back so fast and the welcome
i joined in november but i'm not all that good with the forum thing that said this does seem the most friendly and patient with people who don't know everything.
for example it won't allow me to upload my pictures on here
i'll type them up but with my typing skills it could be some time

Theres a few things you can try here.

Drop the memory to run at 800 and kepp the cpu at 400.

Make sure the RAM voltage is set to whatever it is supposed to be set to.

Set the main timings to whatever they are supposed to be.

If that doesnt fix it....

Take out 2 of the sticks of RAM.

Is it stable now?

If not, take out the other two and swap them for the ones you have removed?

Stable now?

If not, try them one at a time in each slot, and run memtest v2.01 test 5 on them for around an hour each and make sure you have a fan blowing on them while testing.

There are some other things to try, but try those first

Might be worth flashing to the newest bios 0602 they seems to be issues going above 1066Mhz on the ram without it.
