Welcome to the forums

All three of those are good motherboards.

I would have said that components and build wise, there isn't much in it really, but I think the UT would just scrape it because of the Thermalright cooling.

Support wise, probably the same again, both manufacturers have their own following and plenty of people to help out if you get stuck.

As far as I know, any crossfire problems can be fixed by using only one bridge, but have a search for posts by Praz regarding this.

I'll let supershanks comment on the gigabyte boards, he has used most of the recent ones.

Hi daved,
Both DFI & gigabyte are up there with excellent build quality with high quality components
Apart from Gigabyte's recent glitch with a faulty bios, support etc., is good RMA support is good with both companies.
Think in the end it depends if you are a tweaker & want a bios that lets you control more. The Gigabyte X48 is good but the bios isn't as sophisticated as the DFI. For many that's a blessing
Gigabyte have caught up with DFI Bios with the EP45 Extreme but if you want dual 16x you'll want X48.

Is ok but slightly dated now, the build quality & package aren't as good as either DFI or Gigabyte

The x38 board was good, but the X48 was slightly better....not by a massive amount though. If you are on a budget, the X38 LT will do fine.

The only difference between the LT and UT models is the cooling.
